@challengerstrength
@challengerstrength 4 жыл бұрын
ShafterX he felt that Tony was positioning Christopher to be second in command in the family and anointing him captain was the first step. Did patsy feel passed over? Sure, but Silvio was using Patsy’s feelings and telling them to Tony as a way to voice how he really felt. He knocked off the tiles against Tony’s orders as he was feeling insecure about Christopher’s ascension in the family and was posturing.

I used to believe that the supreme Devil character in the Sopranos was Ralphie due to all the lines from Sympathy for the Devil and all that, but the scene where Silvio tells Tony his sin is Pride made me realize that Tony is the true Devil of the series. He beats and tortures people like Matt Bevilaqua, murders people for business, pride, and revenge, murders and orders the murders of close family members or some of his oldest friends like his nephew Christophah, Jimmy Altieri, Pussy, Jackie Aprile Jr., and his cousin Animal Blundetto, sleeps around even while he's with Carmela and basically abuses both his mistresses and Carmela, he runs all manner of scams and rackets, the only thing he doesn't seem to do is hurt children and animals specifically, minus hunting and fishing for animals but that's a bit different. A comment in some random Sopranos video said that Tony has all Seven Deadly Sins and I agree. Plus Tony's Devil imagery just feels like it's more direct than Ralphie's, especially the scene where everyone is laughing at a joke about Christophah's daughter and it pans over to Tony enveloped in cigar smoke and giggling sinisterly
@ChrisVillagomez
@ChrisVillagomez 10 ай бұрын
I get the point Tony was trying to make, Italians didn't have it nearly as hard as Silvio is saying. Italians, Irish, Polish, they were discriminated against when they first started immigrating here, but they absolutely CANNOT be compared to the treatment that Native Americans from both continents and black people endured in America, and that's coming from someone who's Polish and Irish too. As a European, Mexican and Native American myself, fuck Columbus. He was just the first Western European to make it to the Americas, the Norse made it to Canada in the 1000's but everyone forgot about where Vinland and Greenland actually were once the colonies failed. Denmark ended up recolonizing Greenland but Canada went to the French and then English. Columbus was a slave trader. Even if he personally didn't own any (which I doubt he didn't have any), he literally helped create the first system that enslaved tens of thousands to millions of Natives for European wealth
