Just spent a week in Baton Rogue, Louisiana setting up the new scoreboard speakers for the LSU Tigers Stadium (the 5th largest stadium in the United States) home for one day, going to Tampa, Florida to rip out some theater moving orchestra floor lift equipment, then going back to Baton Rouge. I'm home for one full day in July and that is tomorrow. Catching up now, will try and keep up on the road but it's hard doing them 12-14 hour days in that 40C heat! Glad the One Piece is back :D

Soul King is Yomi-chan's Awaken form. Like this Brook has more power over other souls, much like he has over his. Also, this is a logical step up if you think about it. Even without the actual use of his DF, Brook's music always had power over others, making them befriend him (Laboon in the flashback), making them fall asleep (Sabaody), empower them (Namakura Island when they were separated just before the Time Skip) or heal them (the Minks on Zou). Combine this natural power with Yomi-chan's abilities and you have the great Soul King!

So: Eggplant Soldier is in charge of guarding Sanji. His speech pattern is to end his sentences with "-nasu" (=eggplant). Sanji is being blackmailed to stay there. If he attempts to leave, they will send assassins to kill Zeff. Every time Eggplant Soldier talks, he says "nasu" reminding Sanji of "chibi nasu" and therefore that Zeff is in grave danger, taking a great toll on his mental state. The tragedy of this is that it is not intentional. The Big Mom Pirates don't know of the nickname. Eggplant Soldier just talks like this, he's not doing it on purpose (He's actually a sweet guy). It's just that Sanji seems to be extremely unlucky in things like this (or that Oda-sensei likes to torment him 😅😢)

Think of them as ghosts and of Brook and Yomi-chan exorcising them. 29:43 Fun fact that I have neglected to mention: Brook's line "I have already cut you" is reminiscent of the line "I have already killed you" by Kenshiro, the protagonist of Hokuto no Ken/Fist of the North Star. Like Brook, Kenshiro was seen to pass by his opponents and when they taunted him, he answered "Doesn't matter. You are already dead" while he still had his back to them. Then a panel of them being beaten to a pulp was shown, so fast that it made them explode. Fist of the North Star is a post apocalyptic manga series (1983-88) that is considered a classic. It was adapted as an anime series (1984-88) of a total of 152 episodes (2 seasons), and it's great if you don't mind the old school aesthetic. 31:30 LinLin is not "dribbling" in this scene. The pink aura is Soul-chan. I don't know about LinLin, but Soul-chan definitely knows it's Homies have been exorcised. Which is unprecedented in this reincarnation of it since it and Yomi-chan have never met before in their current hosts. 34:40 Yes, Baron Tamago and Pedro have quite a history. We will get a flashback in the next couple of episodes, don't worry 😁

13:45 Robin was not really alone though, she had Hana-chan for comfort and protection. Also, why do people always make this a competition? 🤔 It's not. Each one had their own tragedies and things they have to overcome. Also also, some of the backstories hit harder because the characters haven't overcome their trauma yet. Nami in Arlong Park was still a slave to Arlong, Chopper was still fighting with his identity as a monster in Drum Island, Robin was still living in the shadows of the World Government until Enies Lobby and here Sanji is yet again haunted by his abusive family. It's not that Luffy, Zoro, Usopp and Franky didn't have traumatic pasts. It's just that they have made peace with them at least to some degree and most of it was off screen. We didn't get to see kid Zoro (already an orphan) struggle with loneliness and the notions of mortality and death and being too weak and useless. We didn't see kid Usopp mourning his mother and feeling abandoned, or young Franky literally piecing himself together all alone while drowning in guilt. I'm not mentioning Brook because I don't think there's anyone that doesn't think that his past is absolutely tragic. And I won't say anything about Luffy because there are still things about his past that you don't know. All in all, I'm personally repulsed by the notion of people rating people's trauma. Like people shouldn't be liked because they have not suffered enough. It's a completely twisted logic to me.

Comparing and rating trauma is definitely a new age thing I have come across recently yknow. Quite weird. Kind of inhumane too imo. As someone who has studied trauma quite intently... the changes it makes to the brain do not vary depending on what the traumatic event is. Trauma is Trauma, we all have different levels of tolerance, awareness, environmental control etc. People who compare trauma,, simply don't know about trauma. I Was hinting at The Time spent as an innocent little girl, that time spent she would have experienced a hell of a lot. We can't compare trauma we can pay attention to the time scale though. PS: to be clear. I was comparing the backstories effect on ME lol. I would never think to compare trauma EV
