I could listen to Matt Reeves talk about film for hours. He's so articulate yet concise, and *passionate* about film-making. The wait for the film was long, and the closer it got the hype would build to a fever pitch. But the end result made it all the more worth it. I loved the film and have now seen it more than once. Reeves and his team have reached the pinnacle with this, and I can't wait for the story to continue. 🦇🦇🦇

It's not the pinnacle lol. The Batman never lived upto the hype! A decent but flawed movie 8/10 is a fair unbiased score. A better director with a proven track record like a Denis Villeneuve, James Mangold, Steve McQueen would have made a better Batman film.

Hearing room ambience and the sound of papers as he goes through them, that’s rare? I agree the sound design is great but foley and ambience is mandatory, there’s not much special about your example. A scene i can think of that had great sound design would be the bat mobile reveal before the car chase. The ascending shriek of the engine like a boiling kettle makes the more realistic version of the batmobile feel so much more intimidating than Nolan’s imo.

When its broken down like this this movie really is a masterful film. Its not perfect has some flaws but ultimately its undeniable that this is a really unique and fresh take on The Batman, what his origins meant to him and how it shaped him to become The Batman. People who criticise this for not being Batman canon needs to hear what Reeves said. He knows of the Batman canon and Afflecks script was probably close to canon but he wanted to turn that on its head and make his own version of the Batman.
