I Truly love Brian's bass playing particularly his upright tones. His electric playing was also phenomenal! One wonders how someone can find the time to truly master both instruments the way he does. On the electric he slaps, taps, plays harmonics, chords and gets a beautiful tone playing fingerstyle. The high registered bass sounded wonderful too but I found myself missing the deep dark beautiful bass tones. It sounded to much like Wes Montgomery on guitar to me. But none the less each artist has his or her way of self expression and thats fine.

Well... I mean... the deep dark beautiful bass tones are happening in the backing track...
@lordorbnauticus6 жыл бұрын
Yea, he's a big fan of Piccolo Basses, which, pretty much reach the low end of a guitar. Match that with Wes' inability to use a pick (lol, what a hack, right?) and it's basically the tone you're getting XD

This guy is fantastic. When you can convey your personality through your playing, you've got something special. Just found about him about a week ago when I started following a Jazz Facebook page. Like so many artists, they fly under the radar. I'd like to see him with Victor Wooten, and Stanley Clarke in a B3 concert.
