This guy is a national treasure. Every interview or demo I've ever seen him do is like going to a musical museum and getting an after hours tour from the curator himself. He knows all the fascinating minutiae and little known facts. A true original.

And most don’t know he was the Guitarists for Hall & Oats. Then he did early 90’s SNL, along with the bassist!!!

It is because GE Smith refuses to be given credit, to his face, I'm giving him his most deserved credit behind his back.. When naming the greats he never includes himself, and he should as he is among the greats.. :::APPLAUSE:::

Mr. Smith is a master at his craft. Arrowhead gave me chills, and that just doesn't happen these days.

I was so fortunate to discover his videos on here. I only knew him from SNL and Hall and Oates. Never heard him speak. This is an important man, although he'd be the last one to ever admit it.

its funny, i think we've all come to him from different directions, then become enthralled. i first saw him from snl, 5 or 10 seconds, best part of the show, then from utube speaking about guitars or music people, THEN i found he was H & O's lead guitarist! now i hunt down any vids of him telling stories or demonstrating his extrodinary skills. the real deal he is !

He and his band put out a CD in 99 called Incense, Herbs & Oils. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a copy. My favorite track hands down is the last one called “Sunday”. Thank me later😊

g e smith is easily my favorite guitarist i love when he gets to talking about how much he loves a certain guitar, hes just so stellar. great player, real man
@flyman977 жыл бұрын
Same here. The whole reason I picked up the guitar again was watching him in SNL. I'd sit there watching the program just waiting for that 10 seconds before the commercial breaks. He rocked it right here. No band, no drum track, no pedals, no reverb, no nothing. Massive talent. Very cool dude.

Ya hes amazing. I really love the way he looks at a guitar... its like his true love

daneguitarist1 yeah, there’s something special about the guy. He’s like the ultimate musicians musician, from a time when rock and roll was still king, that’s still kickin. A real player in the purest form. Talented. And the Dude seems as if being friendly, cool and interesting is what he’s all about.

GE is a rare storyteller, you know there are millions of boring folk singers who give a 15 min into to a 3min song, the difference is GE tells a story just as entertaining as the song.

Singing sounds a little bit like a guy named Keith Carradine (I"m Easy). Got to be honest. When I was a young rocker into 80s hair rock, I thought this guy was douchey. Luckily I grew up and evolved and like others who checked in before me here came to appreciate the Storyteller and the down-to-earth guy G E Smith is. Came from nothing and worked his butt off and achieved status in the music world. Thank you for the education and showing me that guitar needs to come from the heart. Keep up the great work GE Smith

Arrowhead: sorry, George, and Mr. Shindell. Deserters were executed by firing squad, not hanged. The reasoning was that cowards should suffer the same fate that their braver comrades suffered.
@johnabbott38962 жыл бұрын
Not to say that some were hanged because it was not wasting ammo...
