spacetime permeated by two fields: the electron field and the electromagnetic field. Particles arise as disturbances within these fields. Electrons are wave-like disturbances in the electron field, while photons are energy fluctuations in the electromagnetic field. The electron field consists of spinors, which are abstract objects represented by complex numbers. Each complex number has a phase, depicted as rotating on a 2D circle. By assigning a slightly different color for each individual phase, we can see the phase of electrons changes over time, manifesting as electric charge. In contrast, the electromagnetic field is composed of vectors described by real numbers without phases, rendering photons electrically neutral. The laws of physics that describe electrons should not change if we alter the reference phase of all these complex numbers.
