'THE SOUTH WALES EXPLORER' With 37403 & 20189 - (11/03/2023):

A long busy day starting at Tyseley for the ECS departure of this VT day tour to Cardiff & extended to some place called Cwmbargoed!!
A further shot at Jewellery Quarter which fell between the adjacent tram times for a change & then home for breakfast.
Following the steam chase of 46115 around Warwickshire it was home for dinner before a wet 'Saturday Night On The Town' to catch this tour returning from South Wales at Birmingham Moor Street en route back to Dorridge.
A further shot of the returning ECS was planned but abandoned due to the late time and poor weather.
Apologies for the hand held wobbles on the final shot, was trying to balance camera on fence AND keep the lens dry, I think 403's audio alone was worth it though!!

Oh I'm so glad you captured this train Brian, I had to break my retirement from KZbin, and captured it passing through Llanbradach station in the Rhymney Valley, a place that my late Best friend and I visited many times to see the 37's in their early days of operation. It was very wet down here, but an extremely enjoyable one. That last clip of yours is absolutely outstanding, in every respect....Best wishes...Bob

@@SYKAROST I fell on my feet Brian caught the train from Cheltenham Spa I had booked a first class Pullman seat with a bacon Bap and a coffee I received the coffee but they had run out of Bacon so I was upgraded to the four course evening dinner Very tasty . It was a long day left home at 5.30 and arrived back at 23.15 The 2052 Plymouth train from Cheltenham Spa was full of football hooligans that put somewhat of a damper on the day I don’t think ordinary passengers and families should have to put up with that behaviour The Railway Police should have been called But there was no staff on the train to be seen The usual Cross Country service or not

@@ivorsutton4866 That was a marathon day then Ivor and a nice upgrade. Had to chase our bacon rolls last week as they served the whole coach & cleared off lol. Shame about the hooligans though. Presume you left the XC at Taunton so still a bit of a trek home.
