Not only did he steal the animation budget with the way he moves and emotes, not only does he mark one of the first instances of IDW's influence on television, but he also straight up carries the trilogy with Megatron being the only other character who arguably does so. Hopefully he comes back to steal another show, even if he's G rated I think he'll still be one of the best parts about it Also, thank you for the little cameo at the end!! :D

You made me remember another thing I hated about this trilogy: what they did to my beloved dinobots, going back to the geewun characterization of "dumb slow lugs" forgetting how they were also unstoppable powerhouses. They get introduced as devastating, forming Volcanicus, a combiner so massive that Victorion barely comes to his chest, then suddenly comes in Predaking, keeping pace with him... and then... four on two, gets defeated and Sludge gets murdered, and solo Grimlock gets humiliated the rest of the show. Especially after reading IDW, I find this absolutely insulting.

I think I know why Overlord was “downgraded” while fighting Megatron. When he fought Mrs of Flames, he had the Matrix of Chaos on him; while fighting Megs, he’d given the Matrix to Rodimus. I think he kept some of the power if he was able to fight combiners and the Dinobots, but I think he did lose some power.

everyone moves like the titan the violence is the most litteral version of "toy on toy violence" you could ever search for the mistress would work if she was the only one to be the slow and metodical one, and if we saw her actually fighitng anything else than just overlord overlord is the charather that went out on a quest for vengeace, found his joy in living, then found a way to keep up with their vengeace and moved to complete the last hing on his bucket list. the guy is basically the only one with a credible charatherization beside megatron and (more on that later) motormaster optimus was sad and exausted, windblade was just rage, victorion was a ridicolous caricature of a follower warrior, starscream was a meta insult, computron wasn't, the costructicons weren't and devastator wasn't even given his spaces, metroplex was even more emotionless than computron, fortress maximus was a crybaby, I honestly forgot if perceptor ever was there, rodimus could have been something but it wasn't, with the addition of being a mute in his nega-form, the dinobots and the predacons just weren't in there for long enough to be charathers, primal was a lil'bitch once he stopped being the gate guardian, megatronus was too one tone for his own sake. it worked, but it really didn't in the contrasint motormaster, while I don't agree with the voice choise, I do with the direction: the guy is made by 5 bullies that pick on eachother, the hangry pissbaby setup is exactly in line with what the combiner was charatherized as while not fighing another combiner
