Thank you for your videos. Even though my mountains are the Colorado Rocky's, I have found the information you have given to be very useful.

Hey good ole southern boy ,, I know where Dave C. And others are up north the weather there is quite different than we have down here in the south .. it seems a lot of people don't understand we don't need a wool blanket in march or April down here . I know where you're at you may get a little snow from time to time .. over here in the middle of south ga just above the Fla line enough snow to make a decent size snow ball is a rarity .. our winter is very mild here except for maybe a week or two . With the proper skill set and minimal gear we can go out to the woods and be fine .. summer here all you need for cover is a mosquito net and shelter from the rain ! And I agree. Fatwood and ferro rod .or bic lighter is really all we need for a quick lighting fire ..I'd love to come over and hang out with you for a weekend come fall.

I like the old look of the bag in which you hold the materials for the fire. With the contents of the bag, there are great chances to make the fire in heavy conditions.

Is there a benefit to painting your cookware with high temp paint?
@BLACKIETHOMAS6 жыл бұрын
i have found it is easier to clean the soot off..and it seems to cook a bit better due to the paint reducing hot spots in cooking

The day after you switch over to warmer weather gear is when it gets cold. Same holds true for cold weather gear, it gets hot.Really like how that haversack turned out and the lightweight essential gear concept will put you in a position to venture out more often and at a moments notice with confidence.

Tampon in pill bottle with melted chest rub poured and soaked in to it..... Tampon string top so the tampon can be exposed to "rake" sticky wads.

Hi Blackie, can't wait to see your 2018 equipment list. While I'm commenting and I'm off topic but I would like your opinion on a conversion I am thinking of getting for 1 of my Whitney dragoons. I wound up with 2 of the Whitney dragoons, and a company called Kirst Konverter has a 45 colt conversion for it that includes a loading gate. Has some solid reviews, looks to be a quality unit. As an over all picture of guys that get any conversion are they still using it a year later. Not because of a functional issue, assume it works fine. You talk to so many more folks than I will ever meet. Do they continue to use the conversion or did they just go back to cap&ball for whatever reason. Thank you for your time.
