You should play as Germany right up until either 1939 or capping France in 1940, then tag switch to the USSR and try to beat back your own Germany build

The act of dropping to limited when the game gives you extensive for free is painful to the eyes. Also the game doesn't give you advisors because PDX wants to give you some choice in the matter

When playing as the Soviets, rather than just putting your soldiers on a fallback line that cuts randomly across the country, I would recommend keeping as many as you can supply on the border with the Germans. This will force them to cancel the NAP later, and when they do then you can move back to the river line.

civs require a huge amount of time to be worth it, not just in building more military factories but also account in buildup of equipment and factory effeciency, granted u need civs for repairs and trade but you are russia, you got the entire world resources inside your borders anyways.

Tbf yes your right but also he did spend 5 years doing it there's definitely an argument for both but with what the ai had done if he just built a lot of mils eventually he'd have very few cigs especially if he lost resources or stopped trade also building up forts and inf

Reminder that historically USSR crushed Germany so hard that the Allies had to rush their plans for D-Day lest they arrive in Russian France

What do you mean? The Soviets had been asking for another front in Western Europe for years, and the allies decided on the invasion of France in 1943 - set for May 1, 1944. Overlord wasn't rushed - it was delayed. The decision to launch in 1944 was made before the battle of Kursk, and barely a few months after the end of the battle of Stalingrad.
