Did you know about the Red Crescent!?
(sources at bottom)
Someone recently private messaged me that in girl/boy scouts in the US they were taught that the Soviet Union didn't have the Red cross at all, emphisising "because they are godless"
The straight lies we are told is amazing!
The quality took a dip in this video, I had to make some decisions which help me film and edit with a lot more ease which sadly sacrificed some detail in the quality.
Still learning and improving with editing and all that! be patient :)
hope to turn some more topics I've breifly covered on tiktoks and reels into longer form format like this. let me know which ones I should go more in depth into!
anyways typo at the end for my currently not banned TikTok :

To be honest it can be difficult to cite all sources for my information. These are ones I looked at specifically for information on the Red Cross and crescent. But information on minorities in the Soviet union, the percentages, ethnographic information on who lives across the largest country on earth. These are all things that come straight out of my head from years of research. So sometimes I find citing that information to be difficult because it is just simply things that I know. I hope that makes sense. I don't mean to sound like a snob or something but people request sources on information that I've just gained over the years that I can't always pinpoint off the top of my head from a single source. And sometimes my sources are simply the people who live there and have experienced that history.

I quit TickTock a while back. I’m sad to hear your account was banned. When I found you on there I thought you brought something unique and interesting that I hadn’t seen before. I just found your channel by happenstance. And I am delighted to hear more of what you have to share.

Great video like always. I find it very interesting that in certain countries, notably the USA, only certain types of propaganda are showed when teaching propaganda. That is propaganda itself!

Lady Izdihar: Red Crescent was created after Russo-Turkish war. Me: Wait, which one? For those who don't know: There were ten wars that are usually called Russo-Turkish. The mentioned one was the last; it took place in 1877-1878.

Lady Izdihar, I have to ask, are you collecting retro analog television sets? as seen behind you, they remind me of the Sony Trinitron TV, I had in the 70s before you were even a twinkle in your parent's eyes.

I would think so, she has quite a lot of Russian books and seems to know exactly what they say. And well, she's a historian who focuses on the USSR, it would be strange for her not to know any Russian.

we had to learn what the red crescent was briefly by briefly it was just said "this is a symbol that is for a medic" there is also a red Dimond that is used for medics in certain parts of the world. I do not know where but Geneva convention says you cant shoot at it.... even though I'm pretty sure the US still would

Why is the moon flipped around though? Like, the Islam moon faces right whereas the Red Crescent moon faces left y'know.

No it was also mainly used to signify the Turkic peoples of the USSR. A black and white flag is the symbol of Islam
