The most interesting part about this killer and something that never gets talked about is how he had a ton of male AND female victims. Usually these types of killers have a certain type they go after.

That’s what’s always made him one of if not the worst serial killers to me. He didn’t care who it was. Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, Jeffrey Dahmer, and most others all had a type or look they targeted. This guy didn’t care. Very frightening.

Working around psych patients and being a big people person I can tell what mental disorders people have by the way they act and mannerisms before I see the chart sometimes. It's just a big feeling plus experience.

I was about to say the same thing. Many years ago (long before the internet) I got interested in what the FBI back then called the behavioral science unit. So I've read about/studied many, many serial killers. For some reason Chikatilo aways stands out in my mind.

I just live in Rostov-on-Don. Moreover, to get to the very places where the bodies were found costs nothing for the average resident of the center of this city. My mother also told me a story about how she once happened to meet this man. Everything ended well. This is one of the most famous murderers, which all the former countries of the USSR know about. @@gwendolynsnyder463 A serial killer is someone who kills 3+ victims with a time spawn (cool-off period) in between. A massmurderer is someone who kills 4+ victims at the same time and place. Then you have a serial massmurderer, someone who kills 4+ victims at the same time and place, then repeat the procedure at least 2 more times, it is rare, but it happens.

Chikatilo is the best-known serial killer from USSR. But actually there were a lot of murders and killers. USSR just kept it hush-hush. E.g. we just covered the story of the first serial killer in Ussr on our channel.

I think you should make a video about the man with the upside down face. I saw that you did a video about Hendrickson's other creations such as cartoon cat and siren head and figured I would ask for that as a recommendation. I think it would be a cool video to watch since even though cartoon cat is Henderson's most feared creation, the man with the upside down face is obviously the most cruel.

Excellent movie based on this and case file is 'Citizen X'. Stephen Rea plays the lead forensic investigator, Donald Sutherland the local Soviet Red Army honcho and Max von Sydow ('The Exorcist') was Bukhanovsky the psychiatrist with Jeffrey DeMunn as Chikatilo. Great show, an HBO production, worth a look.

Wow ,what a monster and to think he just kept getting away with it because of an incorrect profile ,and that gave him time to get better at it ,so thank God he was caught and as for his victims , I hope at least a good few haunt him while he is awake and sleeping. What a terrifying way to be tortured and murdered ,and so young ,I cant even imagine the level of fear that brought them it's something from a nightmare, God bless and RIP to all of them.
