@@Justletmesmile You're missing the point. I'm not going to give money to someone unless I know something about them first, and am reasonably sure how they will use the money. Also, the broader point I was making is that it's better to give to a charity that funds specific things rather than giving people lump sums of money to spend themselves. "The entire school thought I was faking it." It really makes you ask why. Why were all these people convinced he was faking it? Schools are usually more than happy to give some reasonable accommodations because they can get some extra moola and grants when doing so. If not just the admin, but apparently his teachers and classmates, were convinced he was faking it, then there was something else going on there that he's not going to talk about. We'll never have the real answers, of course, but if a dude has a history of people crying Munchhausen's I'm going to take his 'pain and suffering' every time he faces criticism with a grain of salt. That's the most damning thing, honestly, that his last 'flare up' also coincided with a shitty video and the negative attention he received from it.

this was such a bad move, he clearly needs money and he's completely destroyed any chance of getting it

4:19 Tom he already brought up his knees again, how is that not him blatantly appealing for sympathy just like he did during Ethan's stream?
@ajthewildwolfАй бұрын
For as much as I still don't like him, I gotta admit it was still a pretty good apology. Could he be using his illness to get sympathy? Yeah maybe but I see is more as him trying to explain the headspace that he was in so you can kind of understand where he was coming from at the time. People can act very different when they're under duress. It doesn't make it okay, but it can be more forgivable than doing something shitty just cause you can.

this guy is so annoying it’s like he just can’t help but try to farm sympathy. “ughhhh thought i would go live will in the ER and in a lot of pain to see if everyone hates me” like he just seems like a miserable person to be around idk how his fiance can handle him because i’ve had people like this dude in my life and they are mentally draining

How is it that the guys overcritical of other ppl talking about their disease/health always the ones using it as a shield from criticism. Actually insufferable.

43:33 I have to say, as someone who does watch Jake’s content regularly, he doesn’t constantly talk about his condition. I enjoy his content because he has an interesting sense of humor, some of which is probably because of his lifelong struggles. When he brings it up it’s usually to contextualize his thoughts and opinions, not beg for sympathy
@MrSpartanspudАй бұрын
He really loves to contextualise his thoughts and opinions.

They’re probably not donating because his charity makes no sense! The wording is vague as hell. “Support individuals with chronic illnesses” like that could mean anything. So basically he wants us to give him money so he can choose people he likes who just like him, claim some nonsense issue like chronic Lyme disease & give them the money? That’s the dumbest idea for a charity I’ve ever heard. It has ZERO thought or effort put into the concept or the execution & he doesn’t deserve any donations.

Jake is a master phd doctor specialist at being a victim. He has studied victimology for decades and perfected it. He learned how to non apologize like frouger and still be a victim to dodge responsiblity. Its brilliant. Truly the master we can all learn from.

I’ve been subbed to Jake since the 30k subs mark (don’t come for me I’m a glutton for punishment). He’s still treating his channel like that 30k audience and not close to 300k. He says “I didn’t think anyone would see it” every time he says something stupid.
@sarahpitt6566Ай бұрын
He says a lot of stupid stuff. I subbed to him when he was small and tapped out right before the ethan kerfuffle. He seems like a well-meaning kid, but also not a great public facing advocate.

He’s just looking for any excuse not to get a job since he’s not able to actually support himself on KZbin. I understand chronic pain: I suffer daily and work a full time job! This entire pathetic paradigm of an able bodied person sucking off society using ridiculous excuses to not work is infuriating!
@phuck8627Ай бұрын
If he's telling the truth then he's spent most of his life being unable to even walk so not sure about that one. You can dislike him for trying to blackmail other KZbinrs and not accuse him of faking a disability without proof btw. Maybe you didn't know that, idk.

Fellow chronic pain sufferer here - it's possible to understand chronic pain, but impossible to standardize its definition. Some people suffer from mild lifelong migraine - that's chronic pain. Some people suffer from persistent pancreatitis. Some people suffer phantom pains from mild nerve damage. Just because you have chronic pain and work a full-time job does not mean that every person with chronic pain can do so. I agree with your basic point, which seems to be that chronic pain does not necessarily prevent someone from contributing meaningfully to their community. But I also don't think that "I have chronic pain and I work full-time" is a meaningful argument except in very specific circumstances.
@MrSpartanspudАй бұрын
The question is, can he work a job. The answer is, yes. He just doesn't want to. Look at his soft doughy little body. He WANTS to be sick so he doesn't have to feel bad about being lazy.

What... Exactly does he mean when he says he applied for "disability insurance"? Does he mean an actual insurance policy for if he becomes disabled?
