The Spartan - Season 1 | New World PvP | 625 SnS Spear

With Season 1 in full swing, I decided to re-gear The Spartan and give it a go. It's definitely more difficult now. Bows and Fire Mages have infested OPR. But, Spartan is certainly still strong. With Shirking Fortification out and most people running Elemental Aversion, this build completely goes around that and takes advantage the new non-Fortification meta. Thanks for watching, and enjoy!

Only difference between our builds is I'm running 100 con 200 str and dex

@@Vaynthegreat Yeah, you can go 100 Con and be more "glass cannon" but I personally don't feel comfortable with that, too much ranged damage at the moment. But if someone is going to play more stealthy and be more a bush-jumper assassinate type build of this, then 100 Con makes sense.

It's a very difficult build to play with a high learning curve, so be patient with yourself and give it time.

Would 115 strength 250 dex 150 con work if spear is my primary damage or should sns be used more?

Yeah that would work fine too. However keep in mind that the 200 STR perk is better than the 250 DEX perk, as the 200 STR perk gives a flat 10% damage buff to all attacks on CC'd enemies while the 250 DEX perk only gives it to crit damage, and with everyone running Resilient to mitigate critical damage, it's not as good. So if you can go 200 STR/166 DEX, I'd do that. Your spear will still hit hard but your sword will do more DPS. You really just want to hit the 150 DEX breakpoint so you get the extra dodges.

My only issue is the 150 strength perk is really bad while the 200 dex perk is more backstab dmg and the 250 dex is worse than 200 strength but combined I would say the dex perks are better. I can see where you are coming from though.

@@Mangarin. Putting 10% more damage on your sword by going 200 STR is worth the less than ideal 150 STR perk. If you watch my SnS/Spear videos, you'll notice I use the sword a lot to either drain people low enough to combo finish or to finish people off after I've combo'd. Personally, that's why I prefer 200 STR/166 DEX. But again, you can go either way and it doesn't matter too much. The most important thing is movement/mobility and proper skill rotation.

You want these perks on your gear: Diminishing Shield Bash Fortifying Shield Rush Empowering Leaping Strike Enfeebling Skewer The most important perk is Sundering Javelin, but that NEEDS to be on your weapon so you get the full 25% Rend. Makes a big difference.

So AGS nerfs shield damage output, removed 300 grit from str, so s/s is only used to set up other weapons to finish targets... when s/s was only used to set up other weapons to finish.... amazing. this game is straight trash

@@kurtdha look up “Why You Keep Dying in OPR, part 2” by Wombatrugby. You can create macros that make you heavy attack first before using leaping strike/shield rush/federal rush ect. By doing this it extends your range on those abilities. It’s so obvious in these videos. Dude leaping stoked all the way up the stairs in the middle outpost. Lmfao
