I think there’s a problem in playing competitive gaming when the game companies incentive is towards casual players. You can’t really be mad at COD when they’re not tuning their came for competitive gaming when their money is coming from casual gamers. Valorant, and CS, are kind of different. Competitive gamers need competitive games and call of duty isn’t really a competitive game. In the next decade or two I’m really excited to see where competitive gaming goes. One bad game can screw the whole competitive industry for a year, it’s a bad business model.

It’s so frustrating. Happens every game. Then you watch these streamers who 1v4 lobbies and dominate. Getting lit up by a whole team and being able to get out of it. I empty a whole clip in an enemy and don’t down them and they destroy me. I watch them and they can hear footsteps across the map with ridiculous accuracy. When/if I hear them it’s usually not accurate at all.

Casual players I don’t think love standard multiplayer this year like they did many of the other cods, warzone and gunfight are basically the only things fun. Pub matches are slow and weird with campers and doors everywhere with broken spawns.

Karma is right. You can’t keep the game the same. I’m sorry, as much as pro players deserve respect and support. These games are not built for them. The competitive gaming scene for COD probably doesn’t even rake in 50% of the earnings from game sales (I’d be interested to know the real numbers). You can tell because warzone came out for free and everyone wants to play it. And warzone has no CDL aspect to it besides for fun. Activision cannot keep a game that makes them this much money? The same every year. There only option is to somehow create and support the competitive league on the side. Whether that means more rules that make the more “complex cods” more basic. Or a voting system in which people vote for which COD they will play in the CDL. Even then I still don’t think that’ll work. This is the game, this is how it works, CDL will just have to adapt! COD brings in way tooo much money. Like way too much for them not to stick to the idea of creating different game’s every year. It’s the sad truth :/

Games have gotten so convoluted. To much randomizes trash. I will always praise the arena shooter eras. The golden Halo days, Quake, Unreal Tournament. The core fundamentals where simple and worked and players where put on an even playing field to test each players skill and abilities. Now its about quantity vs quality and we have to tweak 80% of the games rules and in game equipment to put it in a competitive state. If you are having to do that then the game wasn’t designed to be competitive. The COD sandbox at its core is not designed from a standpoint to be competitive and that’s it.

The tick rate of COD servers are abysmal. I believe consoles are too outdated to facilitate hosting a 120tick server. Also, if you can’t maintain 120 FPS as a benchmark (console players CANT) then you will not feel any real difference with a higher tick rate except PC players will dominate even MORE as they will be able to utilise the higher tick rate as they can maintain 120fps. Without FPS, tick rate makes little difference except giving PC players a huge advantage.

The spawns hurt every player that plays this broken excuse of a COD. Havent fully tested this theory, just what ive experienced and seen with my own eyes. But I'm pretty sure they have two spawning algorithms. The squad based spawns, and a seperate death streak spawn where if you've died multiple times, it will spawn you next to the last enemy that killed you in hopes that it will give you a free kill. Instead, you spawn into the sights of the enemy and get shot immediately.

I would gladly play a version of bo4 for life. remove half the dumb guns and just keep adding maps. add CTF and uplink as optional modes for comp that game can be played for years. entertainment value for fans high as hell. right now I skip Dom in most matches it's stale.

Spawns or getting spawn trapped is far more annoying than campers, footsteps IW did this on purpose. Sometimes you have to slow down and camp especially when spawn bombardment kicks in. This COD had set a new standard but obviously need to sort spawns, T2K, Footsteps tone down and map voting. I've loved MW & Warzone.👍. Best COD since BO2 or MW3. Just my opinion.

Icehamjello core mechanics of how the game works. For example, spawn system. The normal spawns were when a certain area of the map was empty, a player spawns there. Now it’s squad spawns, so when a teammate “flanks” you spawn on them. The squad spawns are stupid and terrible.
