I still remember my grandfather (Papa Guinn) and his quartet singing these old songs. He took me with him to play the piano for his quartet at what seems like every Friday or Saturday night singing around. Then when some other group would want to sing, but didn't have a "piano player," he would nudge me to step out and play for them -- many times songs which I didn't even know, but I'd follow them. At the time I wasn't too keen on the idea, but looking back, I wouldn't trade those experiences and that time with him for anything! Papa has been gone for 50 years, but I still miss him today as much as I did then. These songs bring back happy memories when people sang from their hearts.

To see sweet Rosie singing is a blessing. Last week she went home to be with Mom & Pop, Brock, Faye, Mary Tom & Ben. It's definitely Sweeter Each Day for them. And if you're saved and on the Glory Train, your next stop just might be in front of the Speer Family Mansion that God had built for them! Can I get an Amen!

I have always loved great smooth bass singers like George Younce and (Jackson) Brock Speer is also one of my all time favorites as well! I grew up listening to the Speer Family on my 33's and what a Huge Blessing they were to me! George Thomas Speer the Patriark of the family was an outstanding southern convention songwriter and his songs and his family's legacy will evermore live on and I pray will touch so many souls to come.....
