The Beyer Dynamics DT990 Pro's are REALLLY picking up the bss here. The headphones are under amplification, but wow, this really struts its stuff in the bass dept.

Excellent, well done. Do you have a favorite synth either retro or modern?
@stateazure4 жыл бұрын
Thank you, marc! I don't really have a favourite, all the synths I have fill certain roles. For analog stuff I really like Peak, Pro-3, for soundscapes/textures the Wavestate is incredible, and for sound design/granular/wavetables the Quantum and Hydrasynth.

Really nice track! I'm really confused about to choose digitakt or octatrack.... I'm looking for a standalone sampler machine....
@stateazure4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I wish I could help, both are great machines!
@fattyboombatty77364 жыл бұрын
My feeling is the DT is more immediate, mono (which isn't a big deal IMHO as the effects are stereo) and sounds great, whereas the OT has quite a steep learning curve being able to do so much. If I was to keep one it would be the OT as the scenes facility is so good for live playing, you can feed other synths into it and process them as if they are just a sample track, and use it as a looper all at the same time. It also has a song mode for when you are feeling lazy :) I use mine as the primary sequencer for my DAWless setup which includes modular kit.

@NutritionalZero4 жыл бұрын
That’s definitely not the OT’s internal reverb. Did you sample with reverb or have a reverb on the cue outputs?
@stateazure4 жыл бұрын
The samples were recorded with reverb. Not a fan of Elektron's reverbs.
@NutritionalZero4 жыл бұрын
State Azure I have thought of doing this as well to get around the OT verbs but I’m worried I will end up with muddy tracks. Advice?
@stateazure4 жыл бұрын
@@NutritionalZero Well in this case, I mostly layed this track out in the DAW first, so I already knew the samples sounded ok together, even when they used the same long reverb. As long as you're not overlapping lots of frequencies, it should be ok, otherwise you could pull the samples and EQ them or filter them in the OT
@NutritionalZero4 жыл бұрын
State Azure Interesting.. So if the track was laid out in the DAW and ended up back in the DAW, what’s the point of the Octatrack? Surely a generic MIDI pad and knob controller could have done the same thing for $100
@stateazure4 жыл бұрын
@@NutritionalZero They were just loops, no arrangement, filtering, sound mangling. All that was plus mixing was done in the OT
