Here's the fantastic Spinners performing live It's Ashame in 1976.
The Spinners rate as one of the most fantastic groups along with The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Dramatics, The OJays, The Stylistics, The Whispers, The Intruders, Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes, and The Delfonics. They were apart of the golden age of classic soul groups who mesmirized us with their dances, energy, and love songs.
It's Ashame, Rubberband Man, Mighty Love, Could It Be I'm Falling In Love, I'll Be Around, Mighty Love, One of a kind Love Affair, Ghetto Child, Sadie, How Could I Let You Get Away, Then Came You, Games People Play, Love Don't Love NoBody, were among their biggest hits, making them the premier group of the 70's.

True. But "It's A Shame" was written by Stevie Wonder. That's what I mean by "Stevie's touch." I just indicated that Phillipe's performance of it was great.

Phillipe and Henry did an incredible job on the lead that G.C. originally handled himself. On the other hand......G.C. left the group BEFORE the gigantic success that The Spinners had on Atlantic. He must be a very philosophical man, at least I hope he is.

Outrageously smooth choreography! And look and listen to silky smooth baritone, Henry Fambrough, take on G.C. Cameron's falsetto vocals on this golden oldie! They were so-o-o good yet suffered the same defections and internal strife that plagued so many of the fabulous vocal groups in the r&b, rock 'n roll and Soul genres.

Also, too: the original recording (with G.C.Cameron as lead vocalist) was written and produced by a guy you might have heard of, Stevie Wonder. Philippe does a nice job here, but it would be awesome if there were live footage of the G.C.-led group performing the song when it came out (it was a pretty big hit at the time, so I'd be surprised if they weren't on Bandstand or Tops of the Pops, something).

I take it you must be fat? I am in good shape. I don't rap. I can actually sing and dance. I put these classic soul videos up, so I know good entertainment when I see it. I've learned from the best. Dennis Edwards is great, but I hate to see him on stage trying to catch his breath, obviously he's in bad health and needs to better himself, so he can be around longer to entertain us.

The Spinners spent nearly the entire 1960s as Motown’s “forgotten” group, never quite receiving the attention of the label’s other major acts, until Henry Fambrough, Billy Henderson, Bobby Smith, Pervis Jackson and G.C. Cameron received a gift from their friend Stevie Wonder in the form of the song that became their breakout hit, 1970’s “It’s a Shame.” Ironically, by the time the song topped charts around the world, The Spinners’ contract with Motown was over, and their good friend, Aretha Franklin, helped them to land at the rising Atlantic music label.
