I love that Dr. Pitre is so about the business of doing God's work, that he doesn't even know the name of his KZbin channel! It's like he's driving the train, and we're welcome to hop on or off, but he doesn't have time for self promotion; there are more important things to be done. I'm just thankful to hop on board and take the journey with him!

Finally, Dr. Pitre comes on the show. I was starting to think Dr. Pitre was not well known for some reason. He's my online teacher for much of what I'm being revealed these days. One day, I hope to be a priest and my little brother is starting to say the same. Hopefully, my middle brother and only younger sister too open themselves to the priesthood and life of the nuns. GOD bless you all!

So thankful for Dr. Pitre and this book as well as certain Dominican friars who know a lot about the Byzantine Rite. I was contemplating switching to the Byzantine Rite predominantly due to the spirituality, but as he says at 43:07, the Eastern and Western Fathers are saying the same things.

I love your comment! I grew up in a great little evangelical free church, then became Anglican in college. I discovered the daily office, and ultimately (after a few years) the fruit of the beautiful prayer (psalms really) of the BCP was my eventual conversion to Catholicism. The Catholic breviary (liturgy of the hours, divine office, all the same thing), was a Godsend, and has been a joy to delve into, especially coming from the richness of prayer that Anglicanism gave me. I'd be curious to see if you are in a similar place in regard to prayer after a few years since this comment or not. (Getting to chance to sing Vespers communally is also a great blessing).

Matt, is there a way for putting ways to navigate through future videos, so if we don't have time to watch the whole thing, we know where to look for a certain topic talked about? (ex. 12:00 minute mark would start a discussion on the Apostles, if you are discussing that topic for instance) I have seen it done in other videos on KZbin, in which it has helped me navigate the videos as well as watch what I need to at that moment. Thanks and let me know what you think!

WAFFLE?... Yes, for those who are not guided by the Holy Spirit, instead they relied on and took their guidance through/from False Teachers/Pastors/Philosophers, etc... Analogy... Moses was taken to the Highest Mountain for him to see the Promised Land but was not allowed to enter there... the same analogy... St. Paul was taken by his vision to the 3rd Heaven for God to reveal to him what was ahead but was not allowed to see the final completion... for he was martyrdom around 67 A.D. before the 2nd Temple was destroyed by the Roman Empire around 70 A.D. That was why St. Paul wrote as if in "ADVANCE" before he died, "DO NOT GO BEYOND/EXCEED WHAT IS WRITTEN." (ref. 1 Corin. 4:6)... or else, God's CURSE (anathema/eternally condemned) will fall upon you... (ref. Gal. 1:8)... St. Paul knew the Written Word of God (Holy Scriptures) would be finally Completed after his death... Praise be to God in Christ Jesus... Amen.

It does not matter what Origen, Augustin, Ignatius of Antioch, Dr. Pitre, or the Pope believed and said, what matters MOST is what Christ Jesus taught to His Apostles that we received from them, and the "Written WORD of God" which was fully completed after the Gospel of John and the Book of Revelation were completely written in around 110 A.D. which is PROFITABLE for Doctrine, for REPROOF/REBUKE, for CORRECTION, and for INSTRUCTION in RIGHTEOUSNESS... (ref. 2 Timothy 3:16)... Praise be to God in Christ Jesus... Amen.

Dr. Pitre has been one of my go-to people when it comes to Scripture. Okay, nuts and bolts time....in the context of an hour of meditation (no I am not there yet)what would that look like? For example, say you have the Gospel for the day, but can't seem to resonate with it, I would pull out some commentaries with the hope that those would stir up something for which to talk to Jesus about, that takes time. Or it could involve writing down any insights I might have....which takes times......or just sitting with nothing in mind at all....as I say to the Lord just resting in Him.....etc. I like to sit before a window, I start watching the birds and the squirrels....is that considered meditation time.....know what I mean?

In the True Life in God messages that Jesus has been giving to a Greek Lady since 1985, this is what Jesus says about the unceasing prayer, “unceasing prayer is to feel my presence all day, it is to desire Me all day”. I love it. It’s a first hand information coming from Jesus Himself. What I would like to say about this book is that, it taught me everything I need to know about the spiritual life. I have not been able to internalize everything yet bc although Jesus talks in a simple way but it’s also quite complex or rather deep, and it takes a lot of meditation and some scripture reading to be able to absorb it better, and yet every time you read it you see things in a different way, you see something more, you go deeper. Okay, I’m halfway through the video and I’ll continue watching.

The Written WORD of God never mentioned, attested, or even referred to Blessed Mary as the "MOTHER OF GOD"... but the "Mother of Jesus"... If the argument is that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, does Blessed Mary also God by nature and not created?... definitely NOT... She was born to human parents, Joachim and Anna. Father God/YHWH through the Holy Spirit created the "PREPARED BODY" of His Son, Christ Jesus, and not by Blessed Mary... (ref. Hebrews 10:5)... In the Original Apostle's CREED, was attested (in part)..."HE (Christ Jesus) was CONCEIVED by the Holy Spirit, and BORN by the Blessed Mary...(and so on)." In reality, Blessed Mary was the modern-day terminology of a SURROGATE MOTHERHOOD, where the Prepared Body created by God through the Holy Spirit as a FETUS (Fertilized Egg cell) was implanted into the WOMB of Blessed Mary... "Blessed is the WOMB that bore the Son of God." (ref. Luke 11:27-28)... God/YHWH was the first to do the SURROGATION OF MOTHERHOOD almost 2000 years ago before MANKIND through Modern Science and Technology had successfully duplicated/copied the process in 1985 from how God had done... By using a Fertilized Egg cell (Fetus) and implanted into the WOMB of a Young Woman (Ha Almah), not necessarily a Virgin... The Written WORD of God never mentioned, attested, or even referred to Blessed Mary the Biblical Doctrine of Immaculate Conception, Perpetual Virginity, Co-Mediator, Assumption (taken Body and Soul), Mother of God, Praying Rosary, Queen Mother, etc... The acclimation and acknowledgment given to Blessed Mary are BOASTFUL ACT of the R.C.C. and not SANCTIONED by the WORD of Father God/YHWH... Facts and Truth of the matters, Biblically and Logically speaking... Praise be to God in Christ Jesus... Amen.

Absolutely amazing talk thank you both. I've read 'Jesus and the Jewish roots of the Eucharist' and it is fabulous! Dr. Pitre is always informative, fluid and you can sense the excitement in his discovery & passing on of a tremendous body of work in his books. A firm favourite... I think I'll invest in Dr. John's and Dr. Pitre's biblical commentary too. Maybe start the 'Bible in a year' again in the new year with Fr. Mike which was really cool. Also, thanks so much for the wise words at the end too....I really appreciate the integrity of those words. I often get quite upset reading really nasty stuff on our Pope online. I know he's not perfect, but if he is erring at all to me it's on being 'too forgiving & understanding' which is the best way to err. As the good Dr. says, and Jesus too in Scripture in His own wise way I guess cleaning up my own house is the best place to start changing the world. God Bless both of you & many thanks!

I love his talks I’m very grateful for Brett Petrie my issue is when going to adoration I am very dyslexic and my church is very dark so sometimes I just sit there sometimes I imagine taking the Eucharist or try and remember the times that the Saints used the monstrance to ward off evil and protect their monasteries or convince but reading is not my best suit so I feel a little bit lost I’ve been doing the Bibles online using Brett Petrie and also a Bible in a year with Father Mike Schmitz or even just short little KZbin videos talking about the commentary of the day but using Bible verses to explain what we are doing wrong in our lives and society

Sometimes I go into Church and listen to sacred music (with earphones) I've found on KZbin. You could listen to the Word in Church that way as well. God Bless.

Would love Dr. Pitre to do a Bible in a Year series teaching us from each book of the Bible. I do have his book ‘A Catholic Introduction to the Bible The Old Testament’ and it’s huge. It’s an amazing Book. But him teaching it would be beyond a number one Podcast or KZbin Video.

Is that the book he wrote with Dr. Bergsma? I thought about getting that book but there's so many I want to get that it becomes overwhelming as to which one to buy.

It's a thrilling dialoge/ lecture. I did wonder though about the rosary RE the Bible scene in which a woman calls out to Jesus to praise him, blessing his mother as the womb that bore him and the breasts that suckled him. I remember also that St Theresa was not allowed a Bible, but had to learn and hold onto the Gospel from the Priest's sermons and all supplementary texts. I believe the Holy Spirit must have played a big part in her erudition.

Lol, the correct way to say cajun is 'Acadian'! The southern folks just couldn't get the accent. My ancestors 'Bourgeois', came from the same area in Nova Scotia.

Look of love, st peter before first miracle in Acts, and entering into the look of love between the persons of the Trinity. Holy Spirit is the sigh of love between the two looks.

I like that he mentions that we each have a personal relationship with God. I'm reading the book, "God loves the Autistic Mind" by Fr. Matthew Schneider. The book explains that concept well and I highly recommend it to all my fellow neurodivergents and to those who love us.
