28:14 we got those Pop Shoppe sodas a few times in the 70s. You went in and picked the flavors you wanted, back when they used real sugar and it tasted good. The bottles had a deposit, IIRC. The modern big name high fructose corn poison stuff isn't worth drinking.

The Pop Shoppe was a Canadian company that was popular during the 70's mostly. The name and branding is still in use though it's not the original company and has changed hands quite a few times over the years.

My aunt used to go to them when she lived in CT. Mainly due to their sodas being cheaper than what Coke and Pepsi were charging. I remember their sodas having a lot of sugar in them and they tasted disgustingly sweet.

Good to know. Never heard of them before. The lady selling them said there was shop in Manchester, Connecticut.

Yeah, I actually prefer the taste of high fructose corn syrup to real sugar. The real sugar tastes too....... soft??? It's hard to describe.

The "hood Ornaments" are likely racing trophy parts.
@podbenn_2605

Yes, if plastic, but if they're chromed or galvanized then they are like to be "Hood ornaments" as these were still a relatively cheap way of either replacing older, pitted or damaged Hood ornaments on vintage vehicles, or a way of adding a "bit of class" to 60s on vehicles, à la Rolls Royce, Mercedes Benz, Jaguar etc. They went out of vogue after being recognized to be dangerous to pedestrians who go onto the hood (bonnet) when hit by cars, and children who were head-high to the front hood ornaments. RR & Bentley made theirs 'sink' when the engine started and Mercedes, cleverly, put their symbol on a ball-fitting, which allowed it to fold flat when pressure was applied. I have seen large trucks and 'big-rigs' at Shows with a variety of highly polished chrome ornaments along fronts of roofs. I think these would be worth re-furbing & then chroming or perhaps powder-coating and Sold at a Specialist Auction or car show. But, if they are non-metal trophy tops, then they're not worth taking home for 'Free' even!! 😊

Yes, $5 per glass is pretty good. I've never seen a slow poke at a flea market, only on eBay. They seem to go for minimum $70.

The amount of flea markets in you region is crazy. Unfortunately the flea markets down here in SC are full of knock off clothing and literal garbage. I miss finding vintage stuff at flea markets back up north.

Hey Tom! What's your rarest find from these flea markets?
@fleabittenadventures
@fleabittenadventures 2 ай бұрын
From all the flea markets? That's a lot of flea markets. As far as "rare" goes, probably when I found an entire box of sealed computer games from the 1980s. Those are very uncommon in my experience. Nothing else comes to mind right now.
