it looks like there's one other little negative about the pakkawood version that can be seen in the review ~ the SUS410 cladding is pretty easy to scratch up. soft stuff there on the outside. but not a huge deal for most folk.

It is incredibly small, but very ergonomic with tremendous work delivery for the size and will actually fill the hand well of a diminutive lady. It even stays harder than many of the larger models, has a real good ability to get in to tight spaces. Oh and the knife is pretty decent too.

As a British person I have always wondered why Spyderco insist on describing that muddy crocodile coloured FRN on the VG10 Dragonfly as "British Racing Green". BRG is deep, dark, shiny green that used to be used on racing cars, it's not that grubby grey colour!

Rule Britania m8y got my Benchmade 910 old green handle upgraded to proper racing green, looks brilliant.

I recently got a dragonfly for my daughter. It is the 20CV blade with red and black polka dots. I really like it for being; useful, light, non threatening and kinda cool looking. This oaks wood version may be more my style.

Please don't take offense but your voice reminds me of my relatives from New York! Thanks for sharing this one... love the dragonfly, and I've always thought those wood scales on the delica variant looked slick!

Gorgeous knife! The dragonfly is probably my favorite spyderco.. I’ve owned an all stainless one and a couple of the g10s. All of em carried and used hard. I’ve only got one left.. a g10 that’s absolutely beat to hell and has significantly less blade than it started because I got a little stupid with a belt sander some years back. I also prefer some extra weight in such a small knife.. the stainless was great in that regard and I’ve never been one to count grams. Especially with such a small knife. Heft is good. My current edc is a small sebenza and I’d be fine with it weighing an extra couple ounces.
@KurdishHypercurve4 жыл бұрын
still, for me, one of the best compact knives out there... love the extra weight of the full steel liners too, the extra heft makes the knife feel it is of better quality
@prestonscott53676 жыл бұрын
I have what could be a hidden jem for you. Enzo Birk 75 with Desert Ironwood scales, and an S30V blade in full flat grind blade. It’s a knife from Finland, and it fixes all the problems my North Fork from Benchmade had. Thumbstud behind cutting path, no recurve, deep, DEEP carry pocket clip with screws that are flush with the scales, a strong liner lock, the list goes on, and on. It’s a classy piece that’s worth looking into.

@keithbeckett13495 жыл бұрын
Its very true that wood is a very safe bet to have it seem less offensive. I think it simply comes down to this: -Wood looks traditional. -Other materials such as G-10 or anything dark basically... tend to look more 'tactical' (which in turn gives a sort of military or weapon vibe) I think that's what it all comes down to, once it has a potentially tactical look to it, it can be seen more as a weapon. Wood just has a different meaning in its visual style and people are naturally more accepting as a result. What you said about their grandpa having one is definitely a big factor, it just has that classic pocket knife look, aswell as the overall idea that stuff with wood just looks older and vintage, as opposed to modern and tactical which people suddenly are scared by. People subconsciously judge things based on this when they see them, even if they are not actively thinking 'oh that has a tactical looking black plastic handle so it must be a weapon not a tool!' But it is how it is. On the total other side of it, if you do go with the plastics but go completely far out with the colour, to to extreme such as bright orange and yellow (as they do with some Dragonfly's) it also helps the way people may respond as it also removes that look or a weapon and also is more acceptable. I think basically its just as long as its not a dark handle it seems... Its weird how peoples brains work.. Its fully understandable but also kinda weird at the same time. But, if you just put yourself in the reverse position, you realise you cant really help but think that way ... lets say you see some dude whip out a tactical black handle knife....OR he pulls out some bright orange handle knife, one is just going to put you at ease more than the other.

I like the wood, but not the price. I've got the HAP40 burnt orange one which cost about half of what this cost (a bit less than the ZDP189), and it's a nice cutter. Plus, it's light as hell. I've also got the Tattoo stainless steel one for when it needs to look non-threatening.

I keep hearing people talk about how "scary" a knife is or isn't... as if I need to tailor my tools to make everybody else as comfortable as possible.. If somebody is that damn scared they got bigger problems than my knife. I personally don't ever factor that into whether or not I'll carry a knife.

cannot carry either in the UK a bit sad, do have an American knife Great Eastern Cutlery, got quite a few actually which are legal here, I will never understand how a nation so complete in their understanding of engineering, ban a knife whose blade will not shut on the user, while open. Goes back to banning weapons, but thats another matter my American friend.

Never liked VG10 . The Pakkawood is really nice, but it doubles the price. The ZDP model is by far the Best model , imo , especially for the price. The Delica ZDP is $24.00 more than the VG10 version, that's Great for ZDP and Ugly for VG10.

i bought a pakkawood delica and dragonfly as soon as the dragonfly was available, and when i got them the pakkawood handles on both of them were awful. they looked like burnt dog shit. i asked kc if i could get them exchanged for ones with better looking wood, and they said sure, so i sent the knifes on their way. two weeks past, and no they hadn't said anything so i sent them an email asking whats up, 10 minutes later i got a phone call from kc saying they're giving me a refund and telling me to piss off. never doing business with kc again. and ordering wood anything online without a picture of the exact product you will recive will always be a dice roll.
