I'm a first year vet student and have been struggling with my ligatures. This was very helpful and thoroughly explained! I can now clearly see what's happens with the sutures when I'm tying these knots.

Hola, Gracias para su comentario. Comencé estudiar Español este año entonces voy a intentar contestar en Español. "No se deben cruzar los manos" es un buen manera de describir como hacer un "slip knot". I figure I should write it in English also in case I really messed up with my beginner Spanish. "No need to cross your hands" is a good way to describe the difference between making the knot slip versus making a square knot. Thank you for your comment.
