a really great script written by Eric chappell.
Starring the late , great Bernard Hepton , Ken Jones , Alan David , Ellis Jones & . Patsy Rowlands ( among others , all of whom were great )
What really made it stand out for me was the pathos and the great energy of the superb cast, & it was extremely funny !
You can buy the DVD , released by Network but sadly some of the earlier episodes are lost forever .. Gone into that great big comedy ether , in the sky .. ;)

I remember this series back in the 1970’s, with the late Ken Jones as Rex, think that Ken could have played Rigsby in Rising Damp.

Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"
