My only complaint for SS Devastator is just the chest plate is a little low for me and that’s all the complaints I have at the moment I’m saving my full judgement when we get the finished painted product

to be fair, go google transformers movie 1986 devastator pics , the chest piece is close enough .. maybe a tiny smidge low but I think this is a thing we are all misremembering in thinking it was closer to the top of the chest. It might also be a trick on our eyes because the chest piece isnt covering those 2 gaps in Hook, making it look like 2 chest wounds on devastator in the gray model. hopefully when design dna does a 3rd party upgrade kit they can fix some of those issues

Bro, I agree. It's a little wonky, with it's low chest plate and stumpy legs, but this Dev looks SOLID. Honestly, I see DNA making extensions for the legs and probably a new chest plate. The size don't bother me at all because it scales well with my DNA altered menasor

I dont think its the chest plate's place but the 2 gaps in hook that the chest plate isnt covering, so hopefully that gets an upgrade filler maybe the new chest can kinda have gap filler built in as an extra locking point. But also please longer forearms for bonecrusher, guy looks like he's from the loli pop guild with arms that short. (wizard of oz reference for those that dont know)

I think the primary point is that everyone was expecting an entirely new take on a G1 devastator from Hasbro, and they were lazy and just reused the CW engineering that most people didn't really care for. and now we are basically getting the same thing, but just smaller. Every member should have gotten the same treatment that Mixmaster and Longhaul got basically.

All my nitpicks are based off of what we currently have seen. Only focusing on Bonecrusher and Scrapper, nothing else until those figures are revealed. Bonecrusher: 1. I don’t think the hips can go more than 20 degrees. Waiting for a photo that can prove me wrong. 2. A lot of ball joints for a Deluxe Class. Scrapper: 1. Not enough accessories, scale, or even articulation to justify Voyager Class. Obviously neither look bad, it’s just that this is a very big-ticket item so I have some expectations. A lot of people seem to be overly complaining, especially about the combined mode and the members that aren’t out yet. Have to still get them in hand though, and hopefully most of what I’ve said is gonna be proven wrong!

We’ve been so spoiled with third party Devastators and live action, that we forget the g1 vehicles are tiny compared to other versions. Bonecrusher himself is one of the smaller tractors of his field. Also I don’t mind a chubby crusher, it’s the arms that are just vestigial looking. Makes me worried for my favorite member, scavenger

For me, I think this set deserves *even MORE* hate. HasTak had an opportunity to one-up all the third party companies that have made Devastator figures. They could have really blown us away and done something creative. Something that would EARN this price hike. Instead, they dusted off a transformation that was unsatisfying *TEN YEARS AGO* and gave it minor alterations. There is no word you can call that but lazy.

Combiner Wars Devastator does have ankle pivots, there were not any common breakage issues, I have had the Unite Warriors version since it came out, and it's a great figure for what it cost. But anything to rationalize spending more money, I guess.

You're right, I agree is not worst in any ways to the CW. But to be a ss86 transformer you have to keep the quality. Devastators head has the same engineering as the CW, not talking about the sculpt. Chest plate is a bit low. What really worries me are the individual robots. Bonecrushers waist. I can understand the purpose but it kills the aesthetics of the figure. Arms too short and you can't tell where the hand starts, like it's part of the arm, can't see it's separation. Scrappers arms and hands are so cheap like it's a large flat hollow piece. The tires on the shoulders should have been hidden. Come on it's 2024. Legs aren't asymmetric because of the wheels. There are a lot of 3rd parties where they can get great ideas from and arent a huge deal. This guys just got so lazy with Constructions. Scale of Devastator and the constructicons are ok. Like I said, I don't see it worse than the CW but is not something special to die for. Of all the ss86 figures I think these constructicons took the worst part and shouldn't belong to the line cause Ive seen these line give us so much great quality figures and these one is the total exception. For been 86 I expected something way, way much better, and even more because is the most beloved combiner, the first one and the only with 6. Plus all the relevance of these character in the transformers world.

Bonecrusher's arms are better in CW, as is his waist. He kind of looks core-class in the SS86, and not having a waist is just weird. They could've done better. Ditto Scrapper's arms - empty and his hands are attached on the back of the wrist, when they could've just folded out from the forearm and had swivel or something.

I don't hate it at all, the combined mode looks absolutely sick and I can't wait to put it together. I just wish they'd made them Leader class like the Dinobots so the individual Constructicons look just as awesome as the combined mode. Plus, a Leader Class Combiner would be epic. The half Deluxe, half Voyager thing bugs me too because side by side Bonecrusher and Scrapper both look Deluxe scale. It seems like the only reason Scrapper is being classified as Voyager is because he comes with more accessories.

Combiner Wars 18” Devastator is compatible for Seige Omega Supreme, hasbro 18” Predaking, other third party 18” combiners and 86’ Dinobots during fighting. It puts Optimus height to the knees of Devastator as depicted on the G1 scale chart, but cartoon accuracy is not enforce when they drew it. Even the combiner wars cartoons present them as gesalts during the fighting, but at the end of titan wars; they”re all sized as just slightly bigger bots when Overlord started beating them. The newer 14-15” Devastator is ideal for Hasbro Menasor and other 15” third party combiners. I have 15” combiners and 18” combiners; so i guess i”ll play along and get rid of the combiners wars.

I love the look of this figure! There's been some division in the fanbase for a long time now, partly because there's so many different fans; "everything cartoon accurate", "live-action fans only", "bot-mode appearance > alt-mode", etc. I do think that these might not have been displayed on Day 1 under the best lighting, but I think they're going to look amazing in-hand. I wish he was closer to Menasor height-wise, but that's nothing that a 3rd Party upgrade kit can't fix.

CW Devastator was massive and felt like a living fortress, and that’s what makes him look better than SS86 Devvy (from an initial perspective). My biggest fear with the 86 Constructicons was that at the cost of giving them better articulation and engineering, they would downsize them, and that’s exactly what happened. I don’t care about G1 scale accuracy, when it comes to Constructicons, the bigger they are, the better. They are construction vehicles, they are supposed to be huge.

I don't have the Titans Devastator, but IMO it does look better. They should do away with the name scaling, Bone and Scrap are the same size, the only difference is Scrap comes with Devastators blaster.... and its $10 more? really. The name scale used to be based on the size of the bot, now it's based on how much it is, but they still say voyager and DLX size or scale.

I never got Combiner Wars Devastator due to me not being a huge fan of franchise at the time and it was really expensive to get, but now I’m a big Transformers fan with my completion of the ROTF Studio Series Devastator I’m totally excited for the 86 one. I don’t mind the scale of 86 Devastator as the reason Hasbro made the individual Constructicons smaller around the Deluxe size is because if they go the route of making them the same as a Voyager like Tarn and Motormaster, they’re combiner mode would be bigger than Menasor though my Menasor has the upgraded thighs on but ignore that.

Most of my problems could be fixed pretty easily with an upgrade kit except that length of the abdomen. I wish that maybe the piece Longhaul seems to attach to could be shorter and maybe Longhaul’s front wheels could fold in for clearance if need be. Also, minor nitpick about Scrapper, I wish the chunks on the sides on his feet could fold back or something.

Bonecrusher's arms are so short its off putting but hopefully Design DNA which will probably do an upgrade because they always do for combiners , will fix this issue. Other than that zero complaints from me the chest piece is about the same distance below the head as the Combiner wars one and people acting like bonecrusher having a ball joing for the elbow is a reason to never buy this, look at the combiner wars bonecrusher, omg also a ball joint elbow lol. and we know for a fact a ton of Bayverse fans who complain about G1 being in SS line are intentionally going after every SS 86 reveal like this because they have an agenda to try and get it out so there will be more bayverse in SS slots. Dont know if this is true, I invite you to go through the history of posting of people bashing this on TFW2005 and see many are bashing every G1 figure for any reason they can think of. All while bayverse figures arent getting held to the same scrutiny by those same people

I think CW Devy was really meant to scale with T30 Metroplex. Siege Omega was still just a glimmer in a designers eye then. I hope the SS86 Constructicons are better in individual modes, Devastator isn't as important this time. I do envision T30 Metroplex, TR Fort Max, and Siege Omega all getting complete re-dos in the future. Maybe Trypticon gets a little work to make his hips less breakage prone..

I might keep my UW Devy and Titan Omega Supreme for their own display fighting each other but SS86 Devy with a new in that scale Omega Supreme to go with the combiners for that scale also. the damn cartoon, loved it, its great and we forgave its many silly errors but it made scaling super difficult for these toys lol

I love my UW Devastator, but I don't think SS86 is any better or worse in design at this point. Some fans are complaining that it's just a "downscaled CW Devastator", which is a very myopic view. CW Devy was extremely accurate to begin with, so OF COURSE this new version will look the same. If Hasbro make a new Predaking to match, I guarantee it will look like a downscaled POTP figure. Regardless, I'm sticking with UW Devy because of better value for money. I paid £108 shipped from Nippon-Yasan, which comes to £18 for six Leader figures each. That's a quality bargain there. I'd have to pay 2-3 times that much for much smaller updates from Hasbro. How is that a benefit to me?

People say the triangular chest piece is low but I don’t really see it. If you want to ultra knit pick then do so but I’m hyped because it’s probably going to feel massive (not be massive) but feel massive. And hopely the joints will be super stable. I don't know where all this hate is coming from either because he looks fantastic. I think it's a lot of third-party elitism and people are looking at combiner worst devastator through rose tinted glasses. The combiner Wars devastator was not as great as people are comparing him to be. He was extremely limited budget wise and only looked good, combined and even then there was issues. He was way too big to scale with other characters. Just because he's a big combiner doesn't mean he needs to be the absolute biggest dwarfing all the other combiners. I'm happy that the new studio series one is going to be bigger but not by a huge margin. do I think Bonecrusher looks a little wonky yes, but for the most part he looks accurate even though he's got stubby forearms.

No disrespect.... but what are you talking about? Nobody's talking about the combiner wars version.... We're talking about the United warriors version from takara... that had the ankle pivots (YES CW HAD THEM TOO) but the United Warriors also had better joints, guns, and more detail added to all the individual figures as well. The new 86 version is basically a shrunken down version of the takara United warriors version... the only difference here besides the obvious is... the correct version of mixmaster which we never got and bonecrusher and scavenger actually lock in there alt modes for the shoulder joints that they finally got right.... Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking the 86 version although I am on the fence because the scale isn't what they promised... which was voyager scaled figures...and this time around we're getting deluxe at voyager prices... but scale wise the Takara United Warriors is better... scale wise and once again let's not forget... the 86 is a rescale of the takara version

In my personal opinion, I do prefer the way the SS86 version looks compared to the CW mold, though my personal gripe with it is that he's way too small to his Movie model which towers over the Dinobots and the rest of the cast during the battle of Autobot City. It also doesn't help that Siege Omega Supreme (which was made to scale with the CW mold) was reissued to pair with this figure, but it's not even in the correct scale with the figure Hasbros trying to pair it with! However, since the UW version is cheap as dirt now (since many are trying to sell theirs to afford this one and also it is the better version of the CW mold) I will pretty much have the best of both worlds since I plan to have the UW version in combined mode with Omega Supreme in a massive battle display with the micromasters and other "guardian robot scaled" bots. But also have the SS86 Constuctiocns in robot mode on a different display area most likely emulating the 86 movie or other.

I never got Combiner Wars Devastator, the only Combiners I have are the original and Studio Series versions of Revenge of the Fallen Devastator. And from what I heard, Combiner Wars Devastator optimized the combined form at the expense of the individual Constructicons, whereas this SS86 line appears to try to balance it. Edit: yeah, I couldn't get Menasor, the only Stunticons I could find on retail shelves is Dragstrip.

To be honest I was a bit disappointed seeing the initial pictures at first just because Devestator just looks too close to the Combiner Wars version but the more you look the more you see the improvements. I just hope they handle the combination well because I hated the leg connections and the chest piece on that. It looks like they're making more of an effort on them as individual transformers here too

From what I've seen, it looks way better than the CW version. More traditional colours, easier to get price wise as individuals, and Mixmaster looks like a real cement truck. I have no idea what the fuss is all about.

I have not seen a complete version of ss86 devastator yet so I will reserve my judgement. Plus this is only a production model that is most likely not the final version of devastator we will get.

If I recall,Bruticus and Devastator were about the same height in the cartoon. I am fine with this Devastator as I missed out on the Titan's Returns and couldn't get the Takara

For me it's just the chest armor that seems to low, and that will probably be fixed with a upgrade kit from DNA or something other than that it looks amazing not to big or small

Studio series Devastator looks amazing but i wish the crane on his left shoulder was near the center instead of right next to his head.

My nitpick is that it looks like a retooled version of the combiner wars version, thats just changed a few things to make different enough but sadly not much for me to replace my combiner war version I wished that they stayed fresh and not edited a old blueprint

Weirdest part to me is thag people act like they HAVE to be the one specific size. I think they can be whatwver size the continuity asks for and i think they should be the size the toy designers think they should be to fit what they believe will work for their current combiner system. Also Bonecrusher looks silly i love him

I'll say it again: 86 devastator plastic wise is wayyy better than the CW one while the CW one's structure and the idea + execution is neat, it had alot of issues for the individual figures. But still its good to see another combiner like him again and im excited to see where it goes

Only getting Devastator for the individual figures and not as a combiner. Did the same for the Stunticons. All my combiners are the 3rd party oversized, these combiners will throw off my scale.

I think some people have either too much time on their hands or no real problems in life to be bitchin' online about toys. There are so many options for certain characters that complaining is really a waste of effort and time.

personally I like what they seem to be doing, I pre order scrapper on bbts (thats what I did for my 86 prime) and I think he look fine. I guess I get why people have an issue with bonecrusher but it will be my first constructicons so I'm not going to complain. and again they dont come out till next year so idk if they can make any changes to molds but if they need to I feel like they could, maybe?

Man the CW scale of Devastator spoiled people you have no idea how long I waited for a official Devastator that actually scales of everyone and this figure definitely doesn't look like it's going to be a hollow mess either
