The ST150 Gets a Service and Fuel Filter Change

Hi all,
This is how you do a complete service on a MK6 Fiesta ST, this is the same for all petrol versions.
(Sorry for the bad video in places.. think my phones giving up)
This is relatively easy to do! The hardest part of the job is the fact you don't get that much leverage underneath the car, the higher your jackstands can get the better! But be safe!

Nice trick with the spring clamp! A big screw driver right through the filter also works but a bit more messy lol

What a modest man, censoring his backside when jacking the car up 😅 👍. I do about 1k miles each year and still service it. I did skip last year's service as I was thinking I was going to sell the car this year but looks like I won't. Best doing it yourself as some places don't change everything. The fuel filter on my car was dated 2011 back when dad changed it on our first service back in 2017

😂 I didnt think everyone needed to see my butt crack... yeah if I do it i know everything been done, I've heard too many stories of garages not changing stuff. Fuel filters are supposed to last 50k but for the price of them i usually do them every other service (or i did on the mondeo haha).

Do you need to relieve fuel pressure when you change the fuel filter on a mk6? The universal tutorials all say to relieve pressure but the fiesta specific ones do not mention it all. Great video btw!

Thanks 👍🏻 yeah you can do it’s easy enough.. just take off the fuel cap and you ll hear the pressure release. May stop it peeing everywhere lol

Bought a fuel filter when I got the car over a year ago and still haven't fitted it because I get nearly 40mpg despite ragging it often and living in a 20mph city zone. Will get round to it soon though I did my plugs a month ago and found it had been changed with Bosch Platinums which is odd, Laser iridiums in there now though.

Ross fuel filters last like 50k but depends on quality of fuel too. For the price etc every now and then they can be done for peace of mind. .. yeah maybe they got wrong ones as was on offer or something or garage maybe

Do you still stamp your service book (If you have one)....Do you go to the same garage to do the MOT?

alan percival when a car is over 5 years old stamps don’t really matter.. it doesn’t really give value to the car. Main things are the garage invoices or invoice(s) for the purchase of parts (which I have). Same place for mot’s though.

I have a massive box of oil,filters, both timing belts,. Fuel filter, sparks, ign'tion leads, ..All waiting for service and my kwik'fit mech ,is at home ...poxy covid 19....And I need new brakes and pads....In the mean time I'm fitting the ST Stripes on the fester..Should be fun

alan percival brakes are easy to do. Oh a mk6 ST has a chain for its timing belt.. so don’t need. Changing unless it rattles. Don’t see many now with over the top stripes

Denise Armstrong not sure of the size. In the set I have it’s a specific deep spark socket with a rubber top so it doesn’t come out of the socket when removing

why dont you treat your cat to an engine oil flush the new oil stays so clean for miles idrain then add flush not just add to the oil to thin it and once car hits temp drain

Steve Hedger I’ve heard it can cause leaks in seals ... can’t say I’ve tried though
