Finished 2012 Athens marathon in the Olympic stadium from 1896. One of the most spectacular finishes i have had. Just a shame i threw up at 14 miles.

I'm not really into basketball but their basketball arenas look great, look like they would help produce a fun atmosphere. I'd check out a Greek League game for sure for the experience. My favourites are Leoforos Alexandras Stadium (Panathinaikos) just because it looks traditional and is part of the neighbourhood around it and Agia Sophia Stadium (AEK) for the outside architecture and design. Some Greeks told me in the comments a while back the design is motivated by the Hagia Sophia Cathedral in Constantinople.

Just looking at the end of the video with the abandoned Olympic stadia, often wonder whether big team sports that have no following in the host country could have their tournaments held in another country? Say with Greece or Brazil's Olympics for example, sports like rugby, hockey, softball, baseball could be held in nations where they have a large following? Could be nearby (rugby and hockey in Argentina for example) or even on another continent even if need be. Although, I suppose the athletes wouldn't be too happy to miss out on going to the actual Olympic Games event I guess
