Well said on the Sinatraa case... I've talked about this and other cases with my partner quite a bit. It's a tough situation, because at the end of the day of course false accusations happen, albeit less often than I think the esports community believes... But on the other side of things, sexual abuse is extremely prevalent, especially in toxic, mostly masculine, communities like in gaming/esports. It feels like the public demands there be concrete evidence of these assault allegations before they even think about believing the victim. But in reality, what more evidence can you ask for than what Cleo has provided? The shitheads in the public are basically demanding evidence that no woman would ever have in her situation. It's like unless a woman has video evidence of her assault, it get's thrown out as just some bitch who's trying to ruin their idols life... and even IF someone had that kind of evidence, and let's be real, 99.99% of women won't, but if they did they'd be accused of setting the guy up because in the public's view no matter what these women do, they're the monster... not to mention most women, myself included, would be very hesitant of releasing a video of their assault and/or RAPE to a toxic and immature public who would probably just find some flaw with them anyways and dismiss everything. It's a traumatic enough situation, and having to relive it and then be attacked by the public makes it that much worse. People think there's so many accusations now, but I can almost guarantee that probably more than 50-70% of women never even come forward, either because they don't want to face the public harassment or they've embarrassed of even being a victim (which they shouldn't be). People think just because someone isn't charged legally, or convicted legally, that that means they're innocent. You need so much concrete evidence to prove someone is guilty of something like this, especially when the accused has way more resources than the alleged victim. I understand that just an accusation shouldn't mean that people jump to conclusions and cancel someone outright at just a mention of an incident, but I think in this case there's as much evidence as anyone could really have. It's a really complicated and tough issue, but try to just be compassionate to people.. and remember that there is someone here who was deeply hurt and traumatized, if you want to argue for more evidence or something, please do so in a respectful matter and choose your words carefully.
@катија3 жыл бұрын
How do I send this to the people who are doubting a victim's side without directly telling them!!!!!!!
@TheRealNickG3 жыл бұрын
I don't think it is "concrete evidence" so much as the hope that these kinds of situations and the evidence be handled professionally from here on out. When I say things about wanting this to be vetted in court, this is a retroactive reaction to the way the Riot handled this. It really is a dangerous precedent that seems to be setting the bar for rape as not as serious as murder. It literally gives me a pang of fear to think about what Riot got away with when you consider "what if they had found evidence of a murder rather than a rape?" and think about what you would have expected of them and how serious their collaboration with the actual authorities should be. They make me sick when their official stance seems to be "it is okay if a rapist is still free because of our negligent handling of the case, at least we weren't embarrassed because this woke culture is going to blame everyone but us anyway". You are such a weird oddity. I have never met a woman who I believe in my heart would have a problem with or give two $hts about sending someone to get raped and beaten in prison if that is what they did to them. Every single woman I know could not and would not wait to gather evidence and watch this mfer burn in hell just as soon as they can get to him with handcuffs. Of course I don't come across that many helpless women that are pitiable creatures in the way that you described here. Most women I know are hard working ass kickers (metaphorically lol) and deserving of respect, not pity.
@deniellesam3 жыл бұрын
@@TheRealNickG It's not the same for everyone and most of the time people need to process trauma for a long time before they actually realize, this is what hurt them and continues to do so. I believe Cleo also mentioned in her first document one of the reasons why she took so long to tell her story was because she was seeing a therapist. Do you know how they process sexual assault cases in court? You have to live through that trauma again by seeing your abuser and directly retelling your story. Imagine how scary that is for a traumatized person. This is why most sexual assault cases are never filed. Also, even sideshow says the way authorities handle sexual assault cases is shit. So yeah, I think this is the reason why most women would rather not go to court.. Hope this offers a different perspective. I also think Sinatraa's team can bring this to court as a defamation case if they truly want to clear his name, which could put him on a good place in regards to public opinion.

Also Sideshow saying Vikings have more LAN experience than Liquid when only 3 of their players have played on LAN and not more than 5 times, laughable. Kryptix is the least experienced on LAN for liquid and he has played 10 LAN events. The rest have even more.
@FlynnVLRBR3 жыл бұрын
I think there is one point about Vikings you guys are forgetting about: the experience. All five players from Vikings are experienced players that have played big tournaments like this. Fnatic has no player with exp, Liquid has 3 players with no exp and Sentinels are also not very experienced (also tenZ has always choked on lan)

I don't know what you are smoking, Vikings might have played for a higher prizepool but Liquid have infinitely more experience on LAN. I'd say that especially with riots own private and non-invasive investigation, sinatraa has been given ample room to prove his innocence and deny her claims if they were so cut and dry as outright lying. At this point, with sinatraa choosing to be uncooperative and receive a punishment, we should assume that he has more to lose by providing evidence.

Pretty sure Sinatraa only got banned because he was advised by his lawyers not to cooperate with Riot before the police do their investigation. It’s bad timing really, Riot gave the ban because people were asking for something to be done, since he couldn’t do anything until the police were done, they gave the ban hammer.
