looks like the explosion is covering the whole map...
btw you have to be once near him for him to be rendered sooo.... keep that in mind when trying by your self.

If i remember corectly you just had to dash it, even at point blank dash should save you + you can make sand non-burning by doing sort-of-secreet

There's a simple way to escape this: Do the same steps you use to enter 4-S, BUT instead of going in the s level, activate the stalker's sandcastle explosion and then you survive.
