I don't like books but I like Stephen King audio and comic book adaptations. My question about the Stand (2 questions, really)are: 1. HOW I,A CHAINLINK FENCE SUPPOSED TO STOP AN, AIRBORNE VIRUS? MIGHT AS WELL DRAW A,LINE IN THE DIRT WITH A STICK AND SAY "THERE! VIRUS CONTAINED!" 2.. WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE REST OF THE WORLD? DOES ISRAEL NOT COUNT? BRITAIN? CHINA? ARE THERE MOTHER ABIGAILS IN EVERY COUNTRY? THE FIRST RULE IN.BIOWARFARE IS TO DEVELOP A VACCINE AND ANTIDOTE ON A, PARALLEL TRACK. OTHERWISE, WHY BOTHER? SO....A CHAINLINK FENCE AND THE REST OF THE WORLD?

During this entire COVID-19 outbreak I keep thinking of this book. Such great timing with the review. I had issues with the ending of the book (seriously the good guys didn't need to go on a journey to vegas and the bad guys would still have been destroyed). But everything else I loved. My favorite character was Harold. He could have been extremely one-dimensional but being an awkward mess myself at times I felt sorry for him. Keep up the awesome reviews, stay safe, and if not we will meet up in Vegas after everyone gets wiped out.

As a patriots fan, I am sorry for the tuck rule call. M-O-O-N that’s spells blow call. Great review. I’m 90% through now and it’s a top four favorite book of all time for me.

I'm just seeing this review on 11-25-20 and I have to say, much respect and kudos to you for thinking of the inmates and their health. Alot of people think they're just criminals, but the truth is that a great deal of them are trying to rehabilitate their lives for the better to be productive members of society. I applaud you for thinking of them and their well being. God bless you man, and stay safe!!!!!

This was my favorite book of Stephen's until 11/22/63 came out and this is still my top 2. I love this book!!!. 10 out of 10 - Yes! It's so brilliant and I love the ending. I'm a crazy who thinks this has one of his better endings, I know most disagree, but I love it. It's perfect.

I remember when the uncut edition came out. I was in 8th grade and you would see commercials on TV advertising it, and giving you a phone number you could call to order it. It was a huge thing at the time. I am putting this high up on my must read soon list.

I've read this book once - the correct version. It was a really great book, and is in my top 10 King books. It's just not my #1, but that's ok. As I have only read it once, I would love to reread it sometime. Perhaps later this year or next year.

Just finished this book last night and had to leave a comment. Was so worried with all the hype that this book would fall flat. Well I couldn't put it down and finished in two days, stayed up way past my bed time because I had to read just one more chapter! I think this takes top spot of all the King books I've read so far!

Someone gave me the extended version of this book in 2019, and I didn't read it until this year, 2023. I didn't know what it was about until then and it was so trippy reading it in 2023. It turned out to be my favorite book this year and has started me on a King trend. I read Misery after that and it was so much better than the movie. I'm reading The Shining next.

I loved reading this book and the characters are so memorable. The only thing I didn’t like about the extended version was that it was changed to be set in 1990 rather than the the original setting of 1980 from the 1978 publication. Even though King updated many of the pop and culture references to those of 1990, the book still very much feels like it is set in the late 70’s. I wish he would have just kept it a 70’s book all the way through. To say this takes place in 1990 just isn’t believable. Case in point: A song with a groovy titles like, “Baby Can You Dig Your Man” would not have been the top song in 1990. Other than that, fantastic book (I still liked It better).

Pretty close to the best, but Swan Song by Robert Mcammon is way superior! Same premise but different tragedies. He might have ripped off King on premise but it's so much better then The Stand
