The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park Colorado is also know as The Shining Hotel. The Stanley is perched on a hill above Estes Park, Colorado. The Stanley Hotel is a historic hotel and is best known as The Shining Hotel, because it was the inspiration for Stephen King’s novel and movie “The Shining.” It was also the location of other famous movies and is steeped in Estes Park history. The Stanley and Estes Park are located approximately an hour and half north of Denver, Colorado. And is a prefect place for an overnight stay. A fun visit to the Stanley. We visited there the year they built the hedge maze. They had some interesting stories about why they built it. You showed us some things we did not see and we really want to come back to that area to see more including Estes Park. We bought so much junk that it is all over our house. RedRum....LOL. This hotel is majestic. I bought Gypsy Lynn a twins girl costume for when we make it out….she’s hoping not to run into anyone when we do this lol I forgot all about the mattresses. I also believe the opening shots of the shining movie when the car is going to the hotel is from Glacier NP. (Going to the sun road). I still wish we would have made it out this past summer….definitely think this summer we will….I’m changing some stuff around, but not the Colorado/New Mexico portion. We definitely want to see and experience all that Colorado has to offer….I’m hoping casa Bonita will reopen by then too. I may sound like a broken record, but you guys do an awesome job on your videos.
