Greetings and thanks for checking out "The Star Wars: Concept Trailer", directed by yours truly.
As a lifelong fan of all things Star Wars, this trailer was a passion project which required thousands of man hours and lots of blood, sweat, and tears.
In addition to developing and directing this project, I also fabricated most of the costumes and weapons.
Mostly this project my way of honoring the incredible contribution Ralph McQuarrie's artwork has had on the Star Wars we all love.

This is a nice reminder of how many of the early concept art that was changed heavily in the production of the original movie, such as the design of Chewbacca and the Millennium Falcon, saw new life in later Star Wars iterations. The most obvious is Zeb being based on early Chewie, but the Resistance-era X-wings resemble the early concept art X-wings, and the early Imperial Stormtroopers from Bad Batch, as well as training uniform troopers from Rebels look a lot like McQuarrie's early concept designs.

Subconsciously, I was thinking, "Star Wars Rebels." That show really did nail the concept art aesthetic.

The only place I feel like they maybe should have nailed it a little less was Yoda's appearance. Yoda from Rebels just doesn't look like Yoda, and it's because they were TOO faithful to one of his concept designs.

I love how, beng an avid connoisseur of EU/Legends, almost everything in the original art ended up being part of Star Wars sooner or later! The original Millennium Falcon became the (OP) Corellian Gunship corvette. Luke Starkiller's armor is actually semi-standard Battle Armor. Original Threepio inspired half a dozen droids, and you can argue that the OG Death Star is now the Separatist control ship.

The Y-Wing has always been my favorite ship, and they would have faired so much better with a gunner. I was thrilled when The Clone Wars introduced their own version of McQuarrie's Y-Wing, though it makes you wonder why the Rebels did away with the seat for the gunner in later models.

I love how great the scale looks. There is a sense of scale that most movies miss. That alone grounds the artwork into believing the grandiosity of the buildings and vehicles.
