I think Brazil has a 6-month contract with the United States, which is the days that can be extended at the Federal Police. Brazil has bureaucracy is bad but the contract is regulated so that there is no written abuse, the company would lose money. Beware of the radar, depending on the GPS it warns you. Some places where there is a cart do not have night movement, others do. At Semafaro, it doesn't come out in red, not even on the right side as in the United States.

Some tips: 1. The bottled water in Brazil is safe to drink; 2. In big cities, if you stop the car at traffic lights, consider keeping the windows closed; 3. In many cities cars still don't stop for pedestrians at Xing's (things are changing though), so avoid stopping abruptely, because the car behind might hit your car (in Brasilia cars do stop); 4. Depending on the touristic place you park your car on the street, there will be some guys asking you money to "take care" of your car. They are called "flanelinhas". You have to "feel" the place. Anything between 1 and 5 reais is a good deal, 10 is already too much. 1 real is kind of minimum; if it is a senior, I usually tip 5. Beach parkings are more expensive. My attitude towards this situation, is that the guy is just trying to make a living, so we pay something reasonable because it is a nice thing to do, though, strictly speaking, they are doing something illegal. Near beaches, if it is not too expensive, consider parking your car in "official" parking lots. You will recognize them by the fences around them.

Hello ... So, you are really going to Maraú, finally ... This place is wonderful ... I was there in 2019 and it was amazing ... You could stay a week there ... There are many beaches and the main ones are Barra Grande Beach and Taipu de Fora ... Maybe there were more, I didn't go at all ... When I did, there was a long dirt road of more than 250 km, so it's possible that it will take a while for you arrive (it is a place far from big cities ... it is possible that it has already been paved too) And I saw that you are going to Camamu. I've been there 5 times (my uncles live there) and I don't remember having beaches there, but there are many waterfalls ... I recommend it as waterfalls there ... But there are also islands, like Ilha da Pedra Furada, and other islands famous there, if you're interested ... Before you leave Bahia, I recommend that you visit Itacaré Beaches, and the city ... It is one of the best places in the state to spend your holidays.

Tips for driving in Brazilian roads: - When driving in a road where there are vehicles driving in both ways, if you are behind a truck or bus and it's slow, and you can't see if there is other vehicle coming in the opposite direction, it's possible (not mandatory) that the truck/bus driver turn on one of the tail lights/turn signals to communicate to you. If the RIGHT turn signal is turned on, it means that you can pass/overtake the truck. Although if the LEFT turn signal is turned on, it means that you should wait because there is still other vehicles coming in the oppositve direction and it is not safe to overtake. - If you see anyone with the "flash alert" on, it means that there is an accident in the road or maybe something else is obstructing the way, so you should reduce your speed and pay attention. And when you pass the accident/obstruction, if you are still near the accident/obstruction, it's really nice to repeat the sign and warn other drivers who come in the opposite direction. Sometimes people double flash high headlight to you. - Double honk means "thanks" when driving. - Btw, when driving in the road during the day, it's mandatory to drive with your dimmed beam ON. - If you see people honking to much to you in the road, maybe there's something wrong with your car. It may be just your door that is open or maybe one of your lights is not working. - Extra (edit from comments): GPS is very good to use on the road, but you should pay attention when using inside town borders. In Rio, for example, it's not rare to listen to stories where the GPS traced a route to a favela or passing through it, and drivers faced some situation and stress dealing with people from drug trafficking. This is especially true for Rio de Janeiro, and probably for other capitals and big cities. Anyway, be careful! To avoid accidentally entering a favela, use the GPS to understand the general route in a city, have preference for the big avenues and large streets before you need to go into the small streets. Anyway, it's always beneficial to read the environment too (quality of street, lights, people, ...). Damn, I had to look up for translation and English vocab for the parts of the car XD Have a nice trip

Brazilians actually use Waze a lot, including the alert system - so you can avoid traffic and get to know beforehand about any issues on your way :) Enjoy the roadtrip And about the motorbikes, probably someone has already written this in the comments, but the drivers are super bold and always drive on the corridors formed between the cars, so be aware of them. My tip is to pay attention to the speed cameras all over Brazilian cities and highways, they’re everywhere and sometimes you can be fined for going over the max of 25mph in some places, try to go to branded gas stations like Ipiranga to avoid scams on the quality of the fuel which happens a lot and even a new car like yours can fail with the quality of petrol you may get, if you’re going north, I recommend the stretch between Maceió and Recife, that coast has a reef barrier and the beaches are superb, places like Maragogi, Praia dos Carneiros, Carro Quebrado is amazing, if you go all the way to Natal you need to visit Pipa and reach the dunes with a buggy driver in Natal

Hey guys, I've been watching you for a while now and I love your content! I got super excited with your road trip, wishing you the best adventure ever! So, about driving tips this might be something really simple, but I think its worth mentioning anyway, in the US you can go through a red light if there is no traffic, right? Well, in Brazil you can't, at anytime for any reason. Even without other cars or pedestrians, you always have to respect the red light here. One thing to note about this is that if you are driving late in the night in a non major road and there is no one around you, cars or pedestrians, avoid staying there for too long. Be aware of your surroundings and ready to take off as unfortunately it is a common practice of some criminals to stay around the traffic lights in the late night of deserted places. But don't worry now, I know where you are is safer, just leaving this here as I suppose you guys will be driving in a lot of places for a while now, right? =) One other important thing that you may have notice is the amount of motorcycles we have around here. Well, different from the US, it is very common to have them driving between lanes/cars. So always try to leave some space between lanes for the bikes, even if you haven't seen them in your mirrors yet, okay? Checking your mirrors all the time and abusing of the signal is the key. In the Gas Station, we have a "Frentista" ('Frentistas', in plural), he's the guy who will pump the gas for you. Never try to do that by yourself around here, this is a valid information for the entire Country, ok? In Brazil, most of our cars works with both Ethanol (we call "Álcool") and Gasoline. So you just have to turn off your car and say how much of which you want, he'll do the job for you and indicate where you have to pay - that is because each Gas Station has a different place, sometimes they'll ask you to leave the car and pay in a specific spot, or sometimes he'll come to your window and you don't have to leave your car. If he asks you if you want him to check the water/oil levels, you can politely say "Não, Obrigado", for a road trip car I'd avoid to have anything done in the car in Gas Stations - hitting up Localiza-Hertz for help if you have trouble or checking for a mechanic with good reviews on Google would be preferable. About Gas Stations quality, I personally recommend to always look for Shell or Ipiranga, in this specific order - Petrobras is really good too, but it would be more a "we don't have a Shell or Ipiranga nearby hahaha" - if you don't mind, always try to use "Gasolina Aditivada" which is more expensive, but may avoid troubles in the road. In terms of composition, we don't have a "pure" gas like the one sold in the US for instance, our options work fine to our vehicles but there are some Gas Stations with really bad Gas quality in the cheaper options. The "Aditivada" option it would be the more pure, similar to what you guys have there in the US and usually the one that causes less trouble - if you can't find a good Gas Station on the road. Shell and Ipiranga also have an option which allows you to pay for the gas using only your phone with their apps, this is more practical as you don't need to leave the vehicle and sometimes barely needs to talk with the Frentista hahaha, you can look up for that if you are interested. Again, wishing you all the best, I'm sure we all will be glad to help you here during your journey! xD

Nice vídeo as always! When driving on roads, always keep your headlights on and stay on the right lane unless you want to overtake a car that is slower than you. If you can, use Waze to know about the speed limit and also speed traps on the road, some roads have a limit of 110 km/h, for example, but a speed trap of 70 km/h, and Waze will inform you of speed traps and also the limit of that particular trap. On cities be extra careful, specially with stop signs. If the stop sign is for you, you don't have to completely stop the car in some cases, just check if there's a car coming and go if there isn't, and when you see a stop sign for someone, don't trust completely that the person is gonna stop, because sometimes they go right in front of you. Enjoy the road trip!!

Also watch out for motorcycles when chaging lanes, double check your rear view mirror and also the side mirror, and in a red light or traffic jam, try to leave room for them to go on the "corridor" between you and the car on your side.

Plan carefully, memorize the route on maps, that wall lizard is benign, it eats insects and aracnides (spider, scorpion) don't mess with it . . .avoid night driving! So, Valença is that stop for Boipeba . . .remember, its the most expensive time of the year, full season is on!

H, there! Great that you have rented a car, it will be more comfortable then buses or other public transport. People already said that you should pay attention where to park, specially at night! 😉 I'm happy you've decided to visit Chapada Diamantina, it's really fantastic.❤️ I think you should get a licensed guide, don't go by yourselves on the trails; there are many out there and you can be well informed when arriving in Lençóis! So, have a nice road trip, stay safe and enjoy the journey!

Enjoy the trip and stay safe, ppl in Brazil drive like crazy in some places but just be careful and everything will be okay. Ps : Watch out for the people riding motorcycles while you're driving, cause they usually pass between the cars to go faster.

In big cities just stay on the main roads guys, it's safer. Never ask for a "motel" in Brazil, it's something different - ask for a hotel or "pousada".

What is a "motel" in Brazil ?
@eudenovo12844 жыл бұрын
It's a place where families don't go. Normally where couples stay for a couple of hours, some of them include jacuzzis and ceiling mirrors. Well, could also be an adventure for them, who knows, LOL.

Imagine no nordeste . Mas sei q vc só quer aparecer né fia ?

Some tips: always be careful with your surroundings (specially motorcycles), center and right lanes are much more less stressful hahaha, avoid to drive to close to big trucks, drive during the night is not safe in some places. Sometimes, you'll come across some not very polite drivers - unfortunately. Take care and have fun.
