It’s a top 10 album of my life , means so much to me . Got to see em in Pittsburgh when they toured for it . I get so nostalgic listening to it , almost makes me cry . Glad that it touched someone the same way as it did for me .

I'll be 31 in June. I can still sing this album line for line, cover to cover. 2002 might have been one of the greatest years for music. Say It Like You Mean It, What It Is To Burn, Last Stop Suburbia, The Illusion Of Safety, Box Car Racer, Sticks And Stones, The Used, Yellow Card's Underdog EP ... do I need to keep going? What a year!

Watching live performances of bands such as this one and other bands of similar/same genres makes my heart hurt so much. The way the crowd knows every word and the memories and thoughts that flood my head make me want to cry. I was in elementary school when this album came out but my older brothers used to play it in the car, so even though I was listening to my “childhood music” back then when I think back to that time (I had Hilary duff cds hahahah), I am more likely to think of this style of music as it has had more of a profound effect on me than manufactured pop songs. When I think of being a naive, young child I think of all the bands I’d hear in the car: something corporate, the starting line, taking back sunday, early fob (fuck their new shit! Lol), mest, the early november, story of the year, and more lol. And then I hurt in my heart because I’ve ever wanted to be in life is a musician and to be able to do this, have concerts where I’m living really living and feeling happy and everyone knows the words to my songs and are singing along. And I hurt in my heart because I love this music so much and how I wished I had been able to go to concerts as a teenager and I wish I could go to concerts now but I’m awkward and wasn’t good at keeping friendships and sometimes being in crowds make me so nervous. And I love these songs and a part of me does relate to them but honestly I spent most of my time growing up alone in my room so I don’t relate to them the way I think most people do... of having friends and people in your life to which the words of these songs can apply. I hardly ever had that the way I wished. I’m always stuck between the identities of who they wanted me to be, who I want to be, and who I actually am. Sometimes these songs make me wish I could do it all over again, and maybe do things differently. Sometimes they make me want to change my life. I love these songs so much my heart feels like it could burst.
