Your first statement about High Limit is that it’s good for guys who can’t do 80-90 races like the WoO. Looks like out of 16 teams, that probably really only applied to Thorson. Gravel ran 70 races in 2024, 13 of 16 High Limit drivers ran 69+ races. So the “run less races” thing is a myth, these guys want to run as much as possible, and do. In a way, that theory might apply to Sweet, Rico and Larson … because they personally have more money and can afford to race less.
@Kevin-fq4hf
@Kevin-fq4hf 19 күн бұрын
don't go bringing up the facts😂. Most of the High Limit teams race just as many events. if not more than the WoO. The WoO cancels several races a season for whatever reason. Also HL teams are free to hit other shows besides their posted schedule. and do, they race about the same number of shows.
@ryanh1597
@ryanh1597 18 күн бұрын
@ Right, it’s just a talking point that stuck and some still run with it, even after it’s proven irrelevant. I wish they would have just told the truth from the start and said we are starting a new series with more mid-week shows so Larson can run more, and Flo will support it. Nothing else has really changed other than more teams on the road.

@@ryanh1597 It's not so much the number, which I should've clarified. It's the freedom of not dealing with the downside of running a series. Weather, for instance. They don't have to be there and then get rained out, which cost money. Instead, they just don't go. If they want to run at home, they can.
@ryanh1597
@ryanh1597 16 күн бұрын
@@SprintCarUnlimited I'm confused ... WoO teams have to sit at the track even when the race is rained out?
@SprintCarUnlimited
@SprintCarUnlimited 16 күн бұрын
@@ryanh1597 No, but they have a habit of running the guys to the destination and canceling same day when everybody knows they aren't going to hold the event. At that point, the expenses are already adding up.

Awesome conversation. I gotta admit, I have become a huge Sprint car fan the past couple of years after getting a little bored with the DIRT Modified series in my neck of the woods. The Mods aren't bad, just same old, same old. Love having two national series, and the racing is just great ... I think Sprint car racing has the potential to become much more mainstream (despite its drawbacks) because it has so much energy, excitement and unpredictability. It just needs the right marketing push.

I dont care one bit about charters. I just watch racing. Honestly , it would not bother me if HL scrapped the whole idea. HL just needs to pay out at least as much as the WoO if not more.

Loved the episode! Not that Jeremy is completely wrong with the betting but in Illinois, I was able to bet on USAC with both Underdog and Draft Kings but the issue was, it was only available like 1 hour before the races started and searching to find it in the apps was so difficult so the discoverability was so poor. I hope that improves with HL and WOO.

@chuckg6039 , I'd like to see him succeed for sure. Unfortunately for him, I feel like him not winning several championships in a row has a much bigger impact on the visuals of his career than it should. This is one area I think the Outlaws and other sanctioning bodies fail. Gravel is a superstar, and I feel like a genuine good person, but the Outlaws don't seem interested in trying to make him (or any other drivers) the face of the series/sport. I get that they can leave and join a rival series on any given year, but it's the drivers who drive the sport.

High Limit had a great first year and I am looking forward to this season. Woo wasn't supporting the stars that it didn't have locked down. Larson continues to cross- star in different disciplines ,and that doesn't hurt 410 winged warriors. Brad is the Champ in my opinion. If Gravel wants to be the Big Dog he's gotta go get Brad.

I don’t have a problem with gambling. But I am going to tell you it will lead to corruption or race fixing. When drivers and team owners can make more money off of gambling then they can race winnings, the drivers and owners will get the outcome they desire. Trust me it happens and without saying too much it definitely happens in horse racing that has pari mutual betting.#Fact

Gambling wont grow the sport. The problem with gambling in dirt racing is the only ppl that will actually gamble on it are die hards the new fan who knows nothing about won't gamble. We can barley afford to attend the show between the ticket price(national show) let alone a local show for a family if 4 plus food and drinks.your talking $300 for a national race. Jmo 42:06

If done right, you can put in a $5 wager or parlay and win $100-plus. My fear with gambling is that it won't be done right to where the sport can't take advantage of it. Also, the checks and balances are a concern for me.

JE says the All-Stars are needed to develop guys for a national series and that a 30 race schedule is great, better than a 50 race schedule … Just how is a 30 race schedule preparing anybody for anything? Basically half of their schedule is raced over the span of one month.

@@Trackratz-zl9di That is very profound. It doesn't change the numbers or the performance in big events. Kings Royal, for example. Sweet has missed it the last two years. I just feel Gravel was better last year ... could it change, sure. But right now, Gravel is at the top of the sport.

@SprintCarUnlimited If we're going to base who the king is from a single race or handful of races ,they could have stuck with the match races of 1989 @ Knoxville format . But most realize that a handful of races isn't what makes the best of the best stand out . I'm old school ,you have to beat the King to be the King . At best Gravel is the best WoO and contender , Gravel is just another driver like Larson,Day Rico Kofoid etc nipping at Brad's heals .
@SprintCarUnlimited
@SprintCarUnlimited 15 күн бұрын
@@Trackratz-zl9di Like you, I'm old school. However, the eye test and stats over the last 12 months slants towards Gravel. Now, if you need another year, that's fine. The question was asked if I thought Gravel was the best in Sprint Car racing right now. My answer is yes. His team returns, he's the World of Outlaws champion, more money, more wins, better performances in the crown jewels.
