Trick is do one at a time it goes faster or hire people todo more at one time not that hard of a concept my longest down time is parts/material, shipping and paint drying and curing before I let it leave the shop.

@@54raceman Cameron left because he wanted to build full blown racecars but ProFab was happy just doing cages and installing accessories. I was fired because I'm an A-Hole that wanted everything to be done right, and for dogging on the owners because they wouldn't spend money on new equipment.

Best shop around here for parts .. really wish they didn't get so busy now lol but it's good for them .. once Justin did good with his car they built, it seemed everyone went there all at once ... On top of all the other parts and things they fabricate on the side of builds I can't believe the growth of them over 3 years

Whoever needs one and pays for one mainly been doing NPK big tire cars for big-name people though like Monza and Justin swanstrom had a couple cars from them but if you walk through that place they got like five or six other cars being built to but people are so secretive about what they're building they don't want anyone talking about the setup or showing to much of it period...

Cooper, really enjoying your podcasts, but one thing that would help immensely would be to put a photo of the car you are talking about, down the bottom of the screen. Not everybody knows what car you are talking about when you mention a name, and it’s very frustrating! Regards from OZ.

The little bit I've learned about titanium is that it's good for structure. Using it as an exhaust going through heat cycles is when it becomes brittle. (Disclaimer, not an expert)

Like cameron said While monzas car is beautiful it’s got so much unnecessary stuff that monza wanted that it makes me scratch my head the whole time it was being built monza kept saying it was gonna be this and that and when they unveiled it it had so much stuff that unnecessarily added weight that it made me repeatedly scratch my head looking at it. Trying to figure out why you would put this and that heavy item on a full blown racecar

It would be cool if you talked to someone that really knows the rules? Where do you even find the rules? Trying to find World Cup rules the website shows almost nothing. But other sites have more. I have a car in my head, but dont know where it would end up.

Most of the time they pick a class and then build a car to the class, not think of a car and then try to fit it in a class. It sounds like they’d be the same but it’s wayyy easier to pick a class then build to the class

Cooper- "It's really weird with all these leaf spring cars going fast" What are you talking about? People have ALWAYS gone fast as hell on leaf springs! Far, FAR superior to the trash you find in 3rd/4th gen F-bodies!!! Torque arms are sketchy, leaf springs are much safer and predictable!

It’s really weird hearing drag racers criticize “roundy round” racing. Imagine high, sustained speed, precise, momentum racing, where you’re wheel to wheel to wheel for laps on end. Setting up passes and watching the track change lap to lap. There is not centerline, low speed corners, nor follow the leader bs.
@9rjharper
@9rjharper 7 ай бұрын
They’re chassis fabricators. I don’t understand. Why would they want to “just buy a chassis”, when that’s specifically most of what they do? People who don’t understand fabrication are weird.

Their business is building chassis. “Opportunity” of buying a chassis at the cost of their business, which is building chassis? It was a weird question. As was the criticizing “roundy round” racers, coming from drag racers. Imagine high, sustained speed, precision momentum racing, wheel to wheel to wheel, while making contact and watching the track change lap after lap. This crowd isn’t racers. CJ is, I’d say, but still “dead end racing”. At least he builds cars with the intention of building a better mousetrap.

Yeah but that's not why he's not running the car he recently bought a new Total home and everything to race this season and then his dog got real sick and things going on with his family and it doesn't make sense for him to travel all over the place when he's paying out of pocket the whole way and it's not on TV and you don't know where it's going to go... He can still get full price for that car it hasn't made a pass yet and to be honest it's the best looking NPK car I've ever seen... People forget their regular people and have regular lives outside of the show... His wife can't handle everything at the house with him being gone race and having fun all the time and obviously he's not trying to lose his wife over it or not be there when his dog passes

Interesting episode, I watched Justin Swanstrom when he was having his car built at CJRC and made negative comments due to all the references Cameron was making about day drinking, when the x brace cracked in the back half it raised further red flags to me. At least in this interview he isn't talking about partying. Luckily for me I never need to worry about using his shop or any other chassis shop as my interest doesn't lean towards tube frame really fast cars but stock floorplan/slower cars, it's a generational thing since I've been going to the strip since 1965 and top fuelers and a/fx-funny cars ran 8's
@dcfools2890
@dcfools2890 Жыл бұрын
And here you are again making negative comments lol.. glad you found a shop that always made the top of the line stuff for you and never needed to make changes yet alone admitting having to make changes on cars he built.. how hard was it to find a chassis builder building top of the line stuff for you straight out of the womb.. no wonder youtubers shit on some viewers when they say someone in the comments will know someone better...

@@CJRaceCars I don't doubt that you and Justin were joking, I can't remember my exact comments but gist of them was a long the lines of being a business man that builds race cars shouldn't be putting that kind of impression to the public. It's evident to me that Justin doesn't "get it" when it comes to u-tube and it's world wide reach and the fact that a successful business shouldn't do or say things to alienate potential customers, there are many people that won't let their kids watch his videos due to the language used, I am by no means a prude, I am retired from the auto repair business so I've cussed many times but as you get older you realize that people go through stages in life and cussing starts at adolescence and normal people grow out of it as they mature, by middle age if cussing is still a regular part of speech it indicates either/or immaturity or lack of intelligence.
