@@VAbulldog82 EJ Manuel was never good enough period. Race aside, he is one of many QBs both black or white that didn't make the leap from College. Teams don't want their picks to fail and not to build around them so to assume that teams want Jim Kelly, John Elway and Dan Marino because they are white sturdy QBs is a race card used to prove a point, which it is not... Lamar Jackson went 30th in the draft because of his playing style which requires a complete change of offensive scheme. He only threw for 3000 yards which is low, but 36 TDs at 6 Int is awesome plus 1000 yards on the ground and 4 TDs. This style is rare, we have seen it successfully only really twice with Michael Vick and Lamar, both black. D. Watson, Russell Wilson, Mahomes, Kyler Murray are the future greats of the NFL, all black or mixed race. Better examples than Dobbs and EJ Manuel. The best QBs are black and the best RB last year was white, go figure. And how many foreign players now play in the NFL, you don't even know...

@@spikeymikey7975 First off race will always be a factor in the Nfl when it comes to the Qb position. The Nfl is a conservative league that want the face of the Nfl to be White. Nobody has to be a genius to see that. Nobody saying Ej was the Michael Jordan of football, but they could have done more to help him improve. Second why do you have to throw for 5000 yards to be a great Qb? Why cant Lamar Jackson just play the style of Qb he wants and not get criticize? The Raven are 14-2 and not by chance! He must be doing something right. Who is anyone to say 3000 yards passing is not enough?! If they are 14-2. If Baker Mayfield was doing the things LJ did this year, he would be looked at as Jesus Christ. 3rd you don't have to tell me that the best Qb in the league are black. It's a trip to hear these guys speak. I actually wanted Spike Lee to do a documentary on Black QBs and have RG3, Andre Ware, Akili Smith, D Mac, Donte Culpepper, Aaron Brooks, Vick, Cunningham, Quincy Carter, Charlie Batch, Charlie Ward and others about what they went through. What they are saying I can directly relate to with my work experiences. Not only myself but other highly qualified Blacks being placed in lower level jobs. It's like literally taking someone who belongs in the 8th grade and placing them in the 5th. I've seen Black women with Master Degrees work entry level positions because no one would hire them at their skill set level. I've seen the NFL do a lot of slick shit to Black QBs for years and I never liked it. I actually staged my own NFL protest when Charlie Ward didn't get drafted. I didn't watch the NFL for a whole year. At the end of the day, I think Charlie did the best thing for him and the NFL really got the short end of the stick. The NFL really means "Not For Long" when it comes to starting and Black up Quarterbacks. They put far more pressure on Black QBs than white ones. They've driven people like Quincy Carter and Joe Gilliam to drinking and drugs. Speaking of pressure and the difference based on skin color, Teddy Bridgewater came in for Drew Brees yesterday and people acted like they were so disappointed in his play. I had to tell them that first of all Drew didn't play well against them last year and he had a healthy offensive line and a whole week of preparation and a whole season of chemistry with the starting receivers. Yesterday, their best offensive lineman was hurt and the backup continuously held Aaron Donald prompting constant 3rd and 20s. The Saints played on the road and he hasn't had time to build cohesive chemistry with the receivers. I was amazed to that there weren't many if any slants to the Tight Ends, draw plays and screens. There are people who are already calling for Teddy to be benched. This shit is sad!!

If Teddy was Mahomes complexion proably wouldn't hear the benching thing black people are used to being led bye other people we are only good serving other people's interest. Thanks bro bc I wanted to hear that from someone. Bc I’m a saints fan too and the fact people would rather have Taysom Hill over Bridgewater was devastating. Teddy led the Vikings to the playoffs in the middle of the season but everyone forgets that like RG3. Even I hear black people say they would rather have Hill. The ironic part was Hill is more of a mobile qb than Teddy but it comes to show it is about skin color and not mobility or quality. Sean Payton said Hill was a football player meaning he knew Hill wasn’t a true qb. Bridgewater never had the chance to show ppl his style of play not Brees or Hill’s but his. Now saints fans love Teddy now bc of his 5-0 streak. Even now they are doing it with Jameis bc he threw for 30 int but he still has so much potential and is still in his prime. Idk why ppl in Louisiana be racist towards black qb bc Aaron Brooks led us to our first playoff win. But it’s up to us to make sure we back up our black qb bc if we don’t no one else will.

Could've been easy for Warren Moon to sit back on his money and H.O.F. credentials and not care about the future, but he's a great man for giving his support. Imagine being ostracized because you're super talented and of dark skin tone. Now imagine being talented, dark and brash/confident in yourself, they really target you. People of prejudice against African descended people really hate when you're confident in yourself, and vocal against them, this is why players like Allen Iverson and Michael Vick always had a larger target on their back. This was a super intelligent panel & much needed conversation. African descended people have had this discussion for decades in sports, good to see mainstream media discuss it, wonder what opinions will be about it from people of non-color???

Black qb's get raised different. I remember way back in the day (and I'm aging myself) Dan Reeves (who had just got replaced by Jim Mora Jr) spoke at this camp, and somebody asked him a question like, "what was it like to coach Mike Vick?" or something, and he said it was bittersweet because seeing how gifted Vick was, and how he had to coach him, he realized how coaching had failed him to that point. He said that he realized that every single coach, including himself pretty much told him to rely on athleticism when you're first read wasn't there. Like, make something happen. No one ever worked with him on fundamentals, and they tried to dumb down the playbook with half field reads etc. He was saying how there was a pre conception about Vick and he saw the improvement every year he was with him. He said other stuff, but this is what I remembered that pertains to this subject. I think what he was getting at was that if his base was better he wouldn't have to learn so much and he could even be better than he was. I think it was the year we went to the nfc championship too

I think it's a damned shame that any people, (white, black or anyone) have talked about this amazing kid as if his accomplishments dont seam to count. I'm also glad he has used all the negative talk as an ammunition to drive him to want to be better, proving naysayers wrong. He won 6 of 7 games as a rookie last year leading his team to a playoff game. (Youngest NFL QB to ever start ain a playoff!) Most of what's been said about him since that game has been focused on his stats in that game. They said he cant throw. Even though there is plenty of evidence to the contrary. After working his ass off throwing all off season, he's shown once again that he can definitely throw and everyone says, well that was against Miami. I'm not sold...

The fact of the matter is the Chicago Bears did not want a black QB as the face of their franchise (Watson,Mahomes) that's why they picked Trubisky. Nothing Trubisky did in college would justify him being drafted ahead those two, let alone the Bears moving up and giving picks to draft him, it's inexcusable. I'm not even talking about accomplishments, I'm talking about having the minimum skill set it requires to play the position ( reading defenses, processing information, footwork, accuracy, moving defenders with your eyes) Trubisky lacks these traits, I'm a die hard Bears Fan
@365WITHCOACHERIC5 жыл бұрын
As a TRUE LIVE HARD FAN of the Bears i said the same thing, the BEARS did not want a Brotha as the face of the Franchise. Kordell Stewart and Vince Evans dont count. Chicago is still very much "segregated" and you can not tell me Mitch is/was the better of Deshawn and Patrick. I will ride for my dude MITCH, But he has to get us to the top.. My only problem with Mitch is he still stares down targets and he really needs to work with a true QB coach on his Mechanics in the off season. He Athletic enough and has a good enough arm but Im tired of seeing him throw a Drew Brees like pass then turn right around the next play and cant throw a flare to a rb out the back field. Balls too damn high atleast 4 to 6 times a game even if the reciever catch them from time to time. But yea Chicago didnt want a Brother to be all over bill boards in the city. SMH. We are damn near about to have flying cars in a few years and TODAY IN 2019/2020 some Organizations still can't get pass seeing a MELANATED BROTHER PLAYING QB FOR THEIR FRANCHISE... SMH

The flux of black qbs, is going to be the blessing and curse, as the position becomes more athletic, the position will be devalued like the rb spot in time, due to the large amount of talent pool that could emerge, because the white qb will become more athletic too. The black qb better maintain his skill level, both arm and legs, but must at all cost, become a line adjusting, defensive reading, and in time a play caller. Because if he is just out there having plays fed to him and playing on pure talent, another pure talent with a lil extra can come along and take his place

They don't want the QB position to be athletic. Even offensive coordinators is in on it. They keep it that way so the white QB can stay competitive. The problem is, you've got 300 lbs linemen running the 40 in 4.5-4.6. Those days of the pocket are over. They're trying to prolong it with check-dowms but,. Sam Darnold (25-44, 125 yards) won't get it done in this league.
