I really dont understand why iyo and anyone else would want to compare zzz and wuwa to fighting games? I'm really surprised no one has compared it to hack and slash games most especially the Devil May Cry game series because wuwa is so much closer to that than it is to fighting games, wuwa has some animation cancels like that of the dmc series, imo people really overlooked this.

@@manyblock4192 yeah, the exploration stuff with the tv was a really big let down for me, I was expecting everything to be an instance dungeon like how PGR does it, imo they should have taken the SU system from hsr and used it here, like when you enter the stage and finish everything in that room you ge the option to pick which path you want to take and you can do your chores there without the TV stuff, hell they could even let you play as a bangboo when you're exploring.

Love the podcast, but I i am pausing at the 27 minute mark to respond to the question about how AI differs from a human going to art school: it differs because the human is a human, with flesh and blood and brains and feelings; they are a living, thinking, feeling person who puts in the effort to learn how to draw and take inspiration from the great artists of the past or present, because they have decided that they want to take inspiration from them; they made the conscious and deliberate action to do something because they wanted to. An AI isn't ... well, human. it's not even artificial intelligence: It's a large-language-model (LLM), there's no "decisions" that it's making, it's not "learning", it's just drawing from a pool of data fed to it by a programmer. This isn't a thinking machine or an android like Star Trek imagines Data to be; this is a non-autonomous computer with a database of other peoples' stolen work and voices being prompted, by a third person, to re-create that person's style. Unpausing in the hopes that this point is covered at least in part. :) What we call "AI" isn't AI. It's very artificial, but it's not intelligence, and the fact that the term "AI" is being used as much as it is, is being used to obfuscate what it ACTUALLY is and make people think about it in terms of sentience. We know what AI is from our popular culture and media, and that shared culture is being used to make us think that these LLMs are on the same level as a breathing, thinking human.

On the topic of the Abusive VA, i would like to know what people want to happen/want him to do? Looking at all the exposes that have come out over the past few years, dining it seems wrong, owning up to it seems wrong, apologizing is wrong and so is not doing it. i would be honestly curious what people think. The thing they don't realize is, that if there is no redemption, if there is no way to atone, then there is also no reason to, and pushing people deeper into the shadows has gone wrong with racists, religious zealots and conspiracy nutters.

AI will either fail or stagnate the entertainment/art industry because of its fundamental concept. It NEEDS data to train themselves, and the data pool they need is already getting poluted with AI art. I need to add before 2022 in my google queries for art references because everything other that is just AI art. Ai referencing flawed AI art is just AI inbreeding loop that is the biggest oversight a lot of people aren't recognizing as of now.

That's not an issue, just human laziness not providing proper tags. In fact, having bad art in your training is important so that the model understand what is good vs what is good. AI ain't going anywhere except forward, the advances is still happening weekly and mostly fueled by private individuals.

I feel like they should've delved more in character combos, e.g. how Anby's has different attacks with their own purposes, it'd make combat more dynamic and skill reliant, which is more fun and rewarding, IMO.

Playing against other people is very important to fighting games as a genre, but it is not a requirement in order for something to be called a fighting game. Red Earth was released by Capcom back in the 90's, and you can't fight other people in that game. It's single player only and you learn new moves for your character as you progress. It's a fighting game.

XB2 is trash. Just like 98% of other normal games they pad the games with menial boring shit to extend the game artificially. After my 20th side quest which involved doing some boring ass task I just gave up. Game is filled with empty dead terrain and thousands of enemies you will never fight as you run past everything. Also, having a map that display more then 1 quest at a time was fixed with WoW vanilla 16 years ago.

Voice AI still need Voice artists. It's just... Rather then bring born with a beautiful voice. Anyone will be able to voice as long as they possess the skills and talent. That is because text to speech AI will miss nuances. While the other model is speech to speech, or what people call voice changers. Voice to voice is what people will use as you will get the nuances. Also, the tech is out to download for anybody. Anyone with a few GPU's can create voices, images, literature already. Story will be even more important as creative vision opens up so that already, a single person can create their own art. But there's one thing AI will never be able to do, write a good story. AI writing will only ever be as good as the person directing it. So if anything, rather then being anti-AI, support people like Mark Zuckerberg who want AI to be open for all. And of course AI can be creative, it has to be guided by a person after all, it's not creating "#¤% without a person behind it. Hexjuice is just racking up L's here trying to find some metaphysical reason behind art. Art is art because it is art. Trying to define what is art and what is not art, yeah good luck with that one.

I stopped working as an artists because majority of commercial work is just copy/paste and just mix things a bit to make it legal... In this sector you can even argue that AI would be more artistic than a human who just do minimum required to make money. Also you don't need any corpo influence for AI domination - many great artists I know use AI to make more money or/and save time and just be ahead... I saw so many times people who tried to be more original and just wasting their time because fast copy/paste work based on trends was always praised way more. And majority of "fresh" stuff most of the time is just refreshed older popular stuff... People on Twitter etc. who tries to be "real artists" do not represent average artist forced to make another commercial slob... World of art if full of elitism and it's like 2 different worlds - it's like Hollywood + people who dream about Hollywood VS everyone else after acting school etc.

It's more about if you want to support a company that is willing to hire a someone like that, which is each player's choice. Players like you that don't care can still support it, other players can choose to stop supporting it. I agree that maybe hiring these types of people might lead to a better overall game, but player choice on who they monetarily support is more important. This leads to the common scenario where a company wants to maximize their profits, so they get rid of the "bad" employee. It's just how things work, if everyone ignored situations like this then the industry would be in much worse shape
