The Statue of Peace: From Verona to Jerusalem

‘Justice and peace together’ is a slogan adopted by the Italian city of Verona, which takes it from the Psalm. It celebrates the visit of His Holiness Pope Francis and his dedication of the statue of the Risen Christ. The statue was designed in response to the call and vision of Father Ibrahim Faltas, Custodial Vicar of the Holy Land.
It will be erected atop the centre of the Capital of the Resurrection, Holy Land, in the Old City of Jerusalem, indicating that forgiveness and welcoming others is the way to build bridges of reconciliation and love. The statue will become one of the most important monuments in the Holy City.
