A singer who smokes is a singer who wants a short career. Our voices change as we age for several reasons, so vocal variation is inevitable. However, smoking is going to hastening the negative effects of aging and leave you singing like a croaking frog. I have witnessed too many family members die slow, horrible deaths while gasping for air because of smoking.
