Sony changed their terms of service from "PSN account is optional" to "PSN account is mandatory" like its George Orwell's 1984 I will not gaslighted no matter how many people kiss the boot.

I've decided I'll stop playing this game unless they back off on this, and if they carry on I'll try to get my money back, and even if I don't, I'll just make as if the service was terminated for PC and this became a PS5 exclusive. I still have many other games to play, so there's no hard loss for me here.

The problem with PSN linking not working at early launch was already a sign to not pursue it any further. The game was taking wins after wins without the need for linking a trash PSN account. Helldivers 2 just dissed Escape From Tarkov a few days ago with that $250 price tag, and Escape From Tarkov got the last laugh now with what's happening with HD2. Such a shame.

And there's no guarantee that it's not happening in the future (PSN linking not working). We can simply lose access to game "due to technical issues"

My biggest concerns are safety. Their security hack situations, plural, has been a major thing keeping me away from a PlayStation. Very scummy that they didn’t announce it earlier. We were given a formal warning which feel mandatory with less than a month warning and not a courtesy warning way head of time. They shouldn’t have allowed you to skip the signup so people would have known right from the get go.

@@rajabuta oh, yes, a single warning that was given three months ago to those who purchased the product. The same warning that they allowed you to skip without any further warning. If it was going to be in mandatory from the beginning, they should have given you the warning every time you boot up the game. So please feel free to think everyone who didn’t understand the only and initial warning before they played the game once is ignorant. Sony wants to inflate their numbers for their shareholders. They spent three months having it deactivated and gave new purchasers a three day warning before changes are implanted. I hope you continue to enjoy the game, but refusing to see the other side of the argument is ignorance incarnate. Good day.

The only reason I would give any “hate” towards arrowhead is cause they’re the ones that disable the requirement which allowed all those people to play the game that now won’t be able to play cause they can’t make a psn account the if requirement wasn’t turned off then those people wouldn’t be losing access to the game because they wouldn’t have it in the first place ik it sucks to restrict who can play games

Destiny 2 requires you to have a Bungie account, but it is much less intrusive. Pretty sure Ubisoft cross play games do this as well, like the Division 2.

I'm PC only. I don't own a console. I'm not going to make a 3rd party account. It's my bad for jumping into a game to play with my friends without reading the terms of service and studying the sales pages like all of you. I take that L. However, I really don't like the argument that "EA is already doing it, your info is already out there, so it's no big deal." Just because Microsoft or EA or Tiktok or whatever is kicking you in the nuts, does not make it OK for Sony to punch you in the face. That being said, I'm not requesting a refund. It's a great game and I got my money's worth. I hope you all continue to have fun and support AH in my absence, even those who celebrate us PC players leaving. After all, this isn't the end-of-the-world, there are plenty of other games to play.

Hardly an issue for most people, the main problem with the several months where it was optional and now isn't is regions in which PSN isn't available. For those people, either sony needs to let people from those regions play without PSN, or they should be granted a refund. Arrowhead's scrambling to figure this stuff out for those regions. I'd say we need to be patient, but their action has to be taken /before/ the 6th.

Easiest solution ever: Just don't make PSN a requirement. Because I bet you, that if we were to accept this, all of a sudden "You need PS+ to play this online" even on Steam. We need to take a stance somewhere, don't let console slop seep into PC gaming.
