Sorry to sound like a dick, as I probably do right now… but people just need to get better. Developers cannot keep catering to the players who refuse to get off Bug planets or who don’t have the capacity to take cover against Bots. I love it how the Impaler will force Bug players to finally improve.

@@SplitFinn I understand where you are coming from but even with cover bots are oppressive and some of the bots weapons even go through cover. Not to mention not everyone can just keep getting better sad to say. It’s a live service and the only way to keep it going is to keep making money, if you lose players, only catering to super hardcore ones, don’t get the bottom line for Sony, they are gonna pull the plug and there goes the game. Not to mention this isn’t really a “get better at the game” it’s more a fundamental problem bots have that makes it frustrating not challenging.

I think the game is fun even playing solo. That being said, I have yet to run into any major issues with random players. Everyone is on the up and up.

Objective mode is coming at launch which will make it a lot more fun I hope. Team death match gets a little boring.

Today it hit less than 10k online on Steam and smth tells me the situation isn't much better on PS. There haven't been any actual new content for months (hell, we are still waiting for the vehicles we were first promised on release and then promised "soon after release"), key features like bosses and homeworlds (which were present in HD1 and were actual proper bosses and homeworlds) turned out to be a complete joke, there are still issues present since release (and they don't even list them as "known" anymore), recent events have shown that the devs learned nothing from the nerf update community management's "we are better off without you" fiasco, and they somehow managed to worsen the optimization (though, tbh, I know exactly how - it's called "using an unsupported obscure engine instead of any of the objectively better, tried and true options"). Even if the devs are willing to continue (which they clearly aren't, otherwise they wouldn't go on lengthy summer vacations with the state the game's in right now), the probability of Sony offering further financing is questionable at best - as I've already mentioned, player count is plummeting + there isn't any effective secondary monetization: people aren't buying credits, they are just farming them. It makes no sense for Sony to support a live service game (which Helldivers 2 is supposed to be) that doesn't continuously bring profit. The patient is more dead than alive, and it's only a matter of time when the plug is pulled.
