How did you get so many of your skills up to 100 so early in the game? Those look like some outrageous skill checks that you keep seem to be landing.

Skillchecks are something that seem to need rebalance, and some conditions can cause them to be easier/harder but it's not always clear why. Definitely touched on it in the critique section of the review though

@@2HeadedHero I played through a bit further and yeah the checks are all kinds of crazy. Like grabbing the suitcase near your luggage has a check for Mick to try and pick the suitcase's lock with his Strength, but the attribute system still uses the skill check system so a giant only has an 8% chance for success. The fact it's a dice roll instead of some deterministic skill check means the game is gonna be a save-scumming nightmare. Some are so easy that it's an auto-100% success rate and others are so awful that it makes you question why the system even was designed that way in the first place.

game looks interesting and promising, but Arcanum was never to me something u could just place in a box of "steampunk rpg", steamworks and magick obscura yes, it was a magical setting.

Yep, that's why we repeatedly refer to both games as "steam-and-sorcery" themed throughout the video

Idk, steampunks just a word. Its not like tech and magic are mutually exclusive. Arcanum, (all of final fantasy), Arcane?, Thief, dnd stuff, warcraft stuff, all types anime, Dishonored, Shadowrun, and whatver else you can think of. Steam and sorcery is nice i guess, but just another crammed classification buzzword, like a billion music subgenres. How bout that banana bread recipe though 😂

Love that you can play some actually well dressed feminine characters! To many Crpg's just put us in slightly altered man attire. Nice to know someone actually cared enough to do that.
