Күн бұрын

This is the 12th and final part in the Steampunk guitar building series where I'll do some of the setup procedures for this guitar. This will include making the brass nut, modifying the bridge pickup ring, closing the control cavity with a clear acrylic cover, tuning and intonation, dressing the fret ends, and I'll finish with some photos of the result. If you would like to help support my channel and get something cool in return, please consider the following:

Great buile series. I'm a lowly bass player, and the "steampunk" is not a style that I would buy, or build, this guitar is a work of art. By the way, I have purchased several of your drawing sets, the string winder, and buffing station and they are superb. Thanks for keeping these videos coming. My luthier skills are taken to a new level.

Thanks for your support! IMO there are no lowly bass players. They have always been the under appreciated backbone of all good music. Keep it up!

I sort of like the clear cavity cover, but it doesn't have the vibe. Maybe you could window pane it with some copper tape; that would complete the Faraday cage, too, which doesn't have to be a solid sheet. You could even fancy cut the tape to give it some style. And you might think about giving the pots a treatment to give them a vibe since they are on display. Great build!

Excellent work! However, how many amateur luthiers have CNC routers, thicknessers, sanding machines, spraying booths and other expensive industrial equipment? I use hand tools apart from an electric drill, and a small palm router for the neck pocket and pickup cavities. I just make a guitar when I'm not doing my other hobbies, like recording my music.

I've used it for a bookmatched top on a guitar. Looks great. Might be a bit heavy for a body, but if you channel it, it should lighten up.
