I always thought Troy compared to penei maybe not as tall but very identical players. I hope Troy pans out like penei did at right tackle, tons of potential!

Troy to me compares more to like rashawn slater than penei. Technically sound, good footwork...Fuaga is more similiar to penei, more raw but nasty at point of attack and very aggressive

Idk I'm a Diehard Lions fan and I actually agree. I think Troy is ALOT like Peneii.

We shall see. A lot of questions: will either of these new qbs be able to do anything, is our new OC any good, and will we stay healthy. It’s gonna be shaky but I think we will make the playoffs.

Great comparison, their team building and coaching hires are pretty similar as well as team mentality! Way off topic, but these clips made me think, i really hope GP and Warren are working on ball security in the offseason because they both put the ball on the ground too many times last year

I don't think Steelers purposely copying the Lions. This is due to Andy Weidl copying what he did at the Eagles. Enjoyed the video.

It’s really interesting of what the Steelers are doing and it never hurts to bring in depth for the WR position it’s interesting

Wait what? The Steelers wrote the book on drafting. It was Colbert that veered from the blueprint to appease Ben with constantly taking WRs in 2 day 2. Not to mention Smith's offense is very similar to offenses ran by Ron Erhardt.

Yeah they have always been good at drafting. A few bad years of drafting doesn’t negate an entire franchises draft history… Khan will get us back on track soon

Denver’s environment made it next to impossible for a QB to succeed. Russ still put up better than average numbers in spite of his environment. Hell, asking Pickett and Trubisky to throw more than 1 TD a game was too tall of an order to ask so, at worst, we should expect to break even with Russ as QB1.
@CompleteProducer84
@CompleteProducer84 7 күн бұрын
For sure. Russ had exactly double the number of TD of all Steelers QB’s combined last year. If he would have given us 26 TD (compared to the 13 we got), we could have messed around and won the damn division

The Steelers do have some things in common on offense but not nearly as explosive. The Steelers defense is on a whole other level than the Lions though. Both teams will be serious threats in the postseason.

I hate to tell you this ,but this has been the Steeler's way to play football since they've been in existence. When they gave control to Ben they changed their modus operandi since we've been in existence. We dominate the line of scrimmage. Check the Superbowls of the 70s.

They could have signed Rudolph to a team friendly deal and could have still gotten Wilson. The Steelers have made some terrible decisions at QB since Ben retired. They brought in a rookie QB with a bad offensive coordinator and also thought signing Trubisky was a good idea. During this entire time, Rudolph was their best option and he was the 3rd stringer. I don't care that they were paying Trubisky more money or Pickett was a first rounder, they should have been able to evaluate who was the best option to be the starter and it was obviously Rudolph. They get paid to know who are the best players that should be starters. This is a big reason why I am skeptical about the Steelers this season. Kyle Allen might be the best QB option by the end of the year but he won't see the field.

Steelers aren't trying to "turn around" anything however. They've been a very consistently successful franchise, with the best HC in the league. Unlike that schizophrenic franchise in Detroit. What they're doing is getting back to their core philosophy. Which is running the ball down the throat's of their opponents, and playing overwhelming defense. They just haven't had the right personal, in the right positions, to prosecute this action for a few years now. Hopefully, they do once again.

Arthur Smith did not take the Titans to the AFC championship game. Derrick Henry did. Even I could've been a great OC then. Just run the ball with henry and play action once in a while.
@skiphavens4456
@skiphavens4456 6 күн бұрын
Who do you think called the plays? Henry didn’t break out until his 4th year in the league, coincidentally the same year Smith became OC. Ryan Tannehill made the pro bowl in 2019 as well 22:6 TD Int ratio before he got hurt. 2020 Tannehill threw for almost 4K yards the same year Henry rushed for 2k. You don’t throw for almost 4k yards “doing play action once in a while”. Don’t downplay Smith’s role in the success of that offense. I think it was a very nice pick up for us considering the team we are trying to be. Going back to our roots but it’s going to be modernized concepts. His “weak spot” is pass concepts, now he has 2 coaches to assist him in that area between Tom Arth and Mike Sullivan. We are going to be fine. Won’t be taking off plays, we won’t look lazy or quit mid game. We got coaches that enforce physicality and effort. Something we haven’t had and it’s pushing everyone to be the best. STEELER FOOTBALL IS BACK BABY!!! God Bless🙏🏾
