The Steep Grind up Goat Ridge Trail in Chilliwack BC

Goat ridge trail is a relentlessly steep hike that climbs above Chilliwack Lake and Lindeman Lake. You can even see Greendrop Lake in the distance. You're surrounded by many other mountain peaks in the Chilliwack lake area as well.
One thing I forgot to mention in the video is be sure to bring a lot of water as there's no water source on this trail. I recommend 2-3 Liters
The hike starts with steep inclines almost right away with a few rope sections right away. The second rope section was a bit sketchy and got my heart racing, but otherwise, most of the rope sections are short and not too intimidating. Another thing to note about this trail is there's a lot of loose dirt, which makes the steep sections slippery at times. Expect to get really dirty on this trail.
The views start part way up, which makes it encouraging to continue to hike up. The first views are of Lindeman Lake, and as you continue to climb up, you begin to see Chilliwack Lake, Greendrop Lake, and many mountains!
As you climb more up the ridge line, the trail has some short boulder sections.
There's also the odd sections that are a little less steep, which is nice.
To summarize... this hike is quite challenging and definitely not for beginners. The views are spectacular and make it worth the grind, although this one is probably a one and done hike for me! If I did this hike again, it would be to continue on and summit Goat Mountain.
The full hike for Goat Ridge is around 11km, 1225m elevation gain according to all trails
we didn't go the whole way but still got tons of views as you can see. My Strava recording said we did 8ish km 1100m elevation gain.
I'll link the Alltrails map below, which is mainly necessary for finding the trailhead because otherwise, once you're on the trail, it is pretty well marked.
Basically, you park either on the side of the road before Lindeman Lake Parked a lot or park at Lindeman Lake Parking and walk back onto the road as the trail starts off of Chilliwack Lake road.

I did like the description you gave in the video. It makes clear what to expect on this hike - the demanding terrain, the steepness, distances, and elevation gain. Certainly I'd enjoy visiting here at some point - just not if it's wet! Thank you for taking the time to produce the account and show the stunning views of this alpine route.

Thank you, I bumped into a lot of people who didn't research much before hand and were quite surprised by what they were getting themselves into. I hope this helps any others new to the trail to be properly prepared before hand.
