For anyone confused regarding the mechanical input involved here: your dodge (generally) goes in the opposite direction youre swinging the camera. You can see this in the very first clip where he swings left during his 180 and then inputs a right dodge with D. You can see it again in the next clip from his perspective around 1:34. This is what creates the spin effect and curves your dodge. It *can* be done dodging in the same direction youre swinging your camera but i have had huge difficulties getting the movement that i need with that method, so for anyone struggling with this just try to invert your inputs. Look left, dodge right. Look right, dodge left. Also, this is fully possible on controller for anyone wondering. I actually find it quite intuitive once you get used to the mechanics of it.

Edit: Rest in Peace Dave. Can't believe making this vid was the last time I'd talk to you 😔 Some side notes from Steve: - All 2 handed axe and blunt weapons have a longer dodge (2ft difference) than all other weapons. - Classes do not determine dodge distance, however, vanguard reaches top speed faster in fights (like 3 times faster than knight), so Vanguard is superior class to use this dodge with (not mentioning the stamina benefits.) - If you hit the ground after an attack, it resets your turn-cap so you can immediately Steve dodge to save yourself or reset position (as shown in the last clip). - You can use the Steve dodge to dodge past your opponents attack windup to force a whiff (as Dave did on accident in one of the clips). Settings: - 1600 dpi - 9 sens - Max FOV in 3rd person

Correct me if I'm misunderstanding something here, but it looks like Steve is doing a 180 by turning right then dodging right still continuing the turn. After which he would presumably turn left to accel the slash. What you're doing in all of your examples however, is starting a 360 by turning to your left. Then after finishing the circle, *while facing the opponent*, doing a right dodge and curving it inwards by turning left? These are basically two different techniques yeah?
@SoterDave8 ай бұрын
Doing a 180 into a curved dodge is the important part, but whatever you choose to do afterwards is up to you. You could Accel, feint, kick, or whatever you'd like. It'd still be considered a Steve Dodge
@kaze54048 ай бұрын
@@SoterDave But you're doing a 360 into curved dodge in the examples you provide. Is that still a Steve Dodge?
@SoterDave8 ай бұрын
@@kaze5404 No. I would say it should only be up to a 180, but you can always do your own variants of this move and experiment.

When people see this technique, they're confused and accuse Steve of hacking. For the sake of transparency, this is an explanation on why Steve uses this technique and how it works. My videos have a lot of different techniques and mechanics that I wouldn't recommend for everyone. It's up to each user to interpret what would fit their playstyle.
