The "shaky things" are called Maracas and one of the old folk ways they're made is drying a particular kind of gourd and the dried seeds rattle inside the dried gourd shell ,others can be opened and have dried beans or corn kernels put in them and resealed with artist glue and they can also be made of wood on a lathe. They can be hand painted or finished in a natural oil rubbed or beeswax finishes and are an awesome souvenir of Latin cultures and even better if you dig music and play it too!!👌👍👊😎✌💯
