@@ReelRejects watch Menace 2 Society. It’s in the realm of Boyz in the hood. Such a good movie from a real life story stand point. The way it was filmed has just a realism to it. David Spade and Dana Carvey (Garth Algar, Wayne’s World) have a podcast about comedy and their lives in Hollywood and SNL. They recently did a 2 part episode in memory of Chris Farley featuring interviews with friends, family, and colleagues. It’s really touching and worth a listen. Rob Lowe, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, Kevin Nealon, and others provide a lot of insight into what it was like to work with him. He died of an overdose of cocaine and morphine (speedball) at the age of 33 in Chicago. This was eerily similar to the death to another SNL titan and Chris Farley’s hero, John Belushi, who died of a speedball OD also at the age of 33. Belushi himself was born and raised in Chicago.

It's still too soon. RIP Chris Farley. He comes across as everyone's best friend, or older brother etc. His manic intensity sells just about anything. Very much like Robin Williams (more tears) in that respect. There is something extremely pure and sincere about both of them. His films are all full of laughter and yet so much heart in his characters.

41:55 "He's very committed." Norm MacDonald told a story about Chris Farley and why his pratfalls were so good. He said most people, when they fall through a table on SNL, just instinctively put their arms out to break the fall. Farley could fall face-first and it made it so much funnier. Norm's explanation was very poignant (intentionally so I'm sure, Norm was very precise with his words) because he said Farley lacked the self-preservation instinct and that allowed him to squeeze more funny out of everything he did.

Chris Farley actually passed due to a drug overdose just like John Belushi. Both were very similar in their comedic performances. Both careers were also similar. But it was their talent and heart that made them legends.

It was like pre-meme, I had some friends who spent almost 6 straight months speaking like Beavis and Butthead and quoting lines from the show. Some other classic quotes from this movie were the fat guy in a little coat song, "It doesnt hurt here or here, but right in this area", " Did you used to eat paint chips as a kid"?, and the biggest one: "What'd you do?!"
