Super fun Fact about the lake. A 1917 Reo Truck was pulled out in the 80s. The truck still runs and is still owned by my Family The Ledbetters.

*Lake Lure details:* Assistant Fire Chief Chris Melton threatened rescue pilots with arrest for their attempted rescues. He was later defended by Olivia Stewman, an lake lure official who stated the pilots, many of which were veterans, volunteer fire fighters, and former police officers were “unqualified” and would only worsen the situation. She then stated they’d only allow pilots who go through their own official channels to offer rescues. Because of this, many of the rescues resulted in dangerous measures for the mere sake of micro managing.
