Glad that you and Molly made it safely back home to Lucy. Classy doesn't seem to have alot of damage and it is all repairable. Thanks for making the videos of your storm experience. They do bring back memories of the huge limbs that came down off our 200 year old oak tree at home and the damage they caused. You will definitely be dealing with less cleanup and damage repair than we did. 😊

Thanks KB. I'm sorry to hear about my triggering such memories. That must have been a traumatic experience. I really don't have much cleanup to do. A little broken glass here and there. And some small twigs that blew in the broken window. And of course that yellow stain where Molly and I took refuge. LOL I'm working on making arrangements for professionally done repairs for Classy.

WOW what a mess Classy doesn't look too bad at all I'm glad that you and Molly were ok. That had to be a really scary ordeal. Good video nicely done 👍 thanks for the update

I was surprised at how fast those crews got us out of there. From beginning to end was less than a half hour. When Classy tried to roll over I grabbed Molly and we got on the floor. That's when the trees started coming apart. Yes it was very scary. I wrapped myself around Molly so anything coming in would have to get past me to get her. Fortunately, only water and safety glass "gravel" hit us. Thanks Howard. It's always great to hear from you. Hope all is well in your world.

I love it when people bring cool toys to game day. Wow! That was a lot of work. AMAZING how 'gentle' they were with getting the limbs off of Classy. Ha ha ha love Molly's ear ring. Man what a bummer that the tree crashed the part you already rebuilt. But it looks like over all she's in pretty good shape! Hugz John. Hi to Lucy!

Hi Lola. This whole experience was amazing. I found out how many great friends I have. I found out how good hearted and helpful the people in Marshalltown, IA are. I found out how durable ol' Classy is. I found out how much I love my little dog, Molly (she was indeed stylin'). The list goes on. I am one lucky dude. And now I know how lucky. Thank you my dear friend for your continued friendship and support. Hugz right back on ya'.

John, I'm sure glad that you and Molly came through this so well. It looks like all you have to do is replace the window and caulk . Maybe fill in the window opening with wood and fiberglass on top of it.
@GeezerAtTheWheelGang4 жыл бұрын
Hi James. It's going to take a little more than glass and caulk. The new framing is broken and the window frame is twisted. I don't think any of this will be repaired. I'm going to alter the nose so there are no windows at all. Watch for upcoming vids about the modification. Thanks for your well wishes and interest in Classy. Happy Trails.

Classy looks a lot better than I thought she would. I suspect she will be back on the road again before to long. Keep your chin up John and hope to see you finish your trip, or at least do a little camping soon . 😉 !

Hi there Mr C. She really took licking and kept on ticking. You're right, she'll be on the road soon. A friend of mine is coordinating her repairs in Kentucky. So we'll be departing for Kentucky in the very near future. I have to send some pics to the repair shop and patch up that front window for the 450 mile trip. I don't think we'll restart the trip until next spring. Maybe just shoot north through Wisconsin to the UP for the fall color show. We'll see how time and money work out. Thanks for all of your friendship and support. It means more to me now than ever. Until later ... Happy Trails.

What a nice surprise. Classy thanks you too. Be safe, I know you have CoVid all around you. Until we meet somewhere, someday ... Happy Trails.

Hi Johnny. I feel real lucky in the scope of things. Those trunks looked a lot bigger up close. I don't know how Classy took such hits without having a lot more damage. I'm driving her to Kentucky for professionally done repairs. So yes, we'll be on the road again real soon. Thank you for your interest and friendship. Happy Trails my friend.

I think she'll be just fine, Keith. I think I'm going to run out of traveling weather before I can finish the trip. But I'll at least put Classy back to work as soon as I can. Until then, Happy Trails.

Were you in that (family?) group with the travel trailer? Or the Class A? Please let me know so I can put a face to this reply. Just recently I got my camper into a repair shop to get my damage repaired. That storm was a doozy, wasn't it? Thanks for watching. Happier Trails in 2021.

So glad you and molly are ok. Ol' "Classy" held up way better than I expected. Are they (insurance) going to total her or is she repairable? If she stays in the Geezer gang then you treat this RV like a lady. She saved your life. Either way, Ol' Classy probably just became legend as I am sure this story will be told for years to come as you travel on down the road.
@GeezerAtTheWheelGang4 жыл бұрын
Classy seems to be just fine. Just a little cosmetic work and she'll be back in shape. I don't have comprehensive insurance, but I have the rest of my "trip" savings to get the work done. Nothing is too good for my ol' gal. She's a legend to me already. LOL Thank you for your interest and support. Happy Trails.

Glad they managed to get the crew out to there so fast. You've got a lot of work to do on Classy, but I think this event lands firmly in the "it could have been so much worse" category. Do you know if the folks in the 5th wheel are okay, like uninjured?
@GeezerAtTheWheelGang4 жыл бұрын
I think everyone was surprised that the crane company got there that fast. I had been told to expect at least 2 weeks. I'm taking Classy to Kentucky for professional repairs and a design modifiction. She'll be water tight, faster, stronger and more fuel effecient. All part of a future plan that's in the works. The folks with the 5th wheel had been gone for several days according to others at the campground. Sad thing is that some flying debris had broken out a slide bedroom window as it rained for hours. Nobody knew how to contact them. I know they came the day I left, to pick it up. But I didn't get to talk to them. I hope they do ok. Until later ... Happy Trails.

This was deemed an act of God so there was no insurance available. I only have liability anyway. I just got my RV back from the repair shop and she looks pretty good. Watch for the update video coming soon. Thank you.

I'm taking her to Kentucky for a complete overhead rebuild and design modification. No more windows and fewer seams to leak. She'll be dryer, stronger, faster and more fuel efficient. Thank you for your interest and concern. We're fine and Classy will be. Happy Trails.
